This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Hill Value

Postby robinoso » Mon Jan 08, 2024 2:42 pm

Team got 3rd, as I kind of figured. No picks in 24/25.

It’s time to move hill and others. What’s the minimum you take for hill in 1QB 10tm?
10 Team .5 PPR 1QB
QB,RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, W/R/T, W/R/T

QB: Herbert, Rodgers, Kyler, Watson, Howell
RB: Bijan, Achane, Barkley, Allgeier, Breida, Gainwell, Strong, Tucker
WR: AJB, Adams, Wilson, Hill, Higgins, Reed, JSN,, T. Marshall, Boutte, Arob, Ross
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Waller, Bellinger

No 24 or 25 picks other than 4th and 5th each year.

Still need to land a 1st + for Hill. He has shown zero signs of slowing down and just finished as a top 3 WR again. Don't force anything this early in the offseason and wait for the right deal. Usually the offseason is the worst time to move productive vets.

Not forcing it, but at the same time I need to take advantage of what I believe before others see same things in players. I like the offseason to trade. I’m reworking the team to a year out for my window so hoping to land young prospect that might go bonkers in 2.

Devil's Advocate take.
If you're not looking to compete in 2024, not only would I prepare to move Tyreek, Adams and Waller, but I'd also look to move Bijan and Achane. Someone not anticipating being competitive next season should not hold on to a RB valued that high.

If you can move your aging stars (Hill, Adams, Saquon) and your young RBs (Bijan, Achane) and come out of it with six or seven first round picks, that could help you draft two young studs and three solid players.

FWIW, I don't think you have to non-compete in 2024. You could keep all those players and play out the season. There's enough talent there to give you a shot.

That would be the plan, I’d move big value assets tbut keep enough talent to win a turd bowl for pick strength.

I think this team can beat any team in league, but there are a couple of dogs I’d have to eke out against. It’s also a home league but seasoned players so pride hurts too.

I have a contending win now team and I would give you a late 24 first and second for Hill. He is worth more but I’m uncomfortable paying more.

a 1st + a 2nd is easy to get for Hill, but is this really going to net you long term success? You should either be all in and ride this stable 1 last time or like Anteater said, start early with a rebuild and more importantly commit to it.
