Last spot on bench

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Last spot on bench

Postby gpaok » Thu Jan 04, 2024 7:57 am

So was debating on my last bench spot - do I keep Isaiah Spiller or do I pick up one of:

Jaleel McLaughlin
Andrei Iosivas

I feel like McLaughlin showed a lot in terms of ypc so I think he might be a better player (almost reminds me of Stevenson his rookie year), but if Spiller adds some strength I feel like he will have an easier path with Ekeler close to his cliff.

Then picking up a WR with potential to even be a WR2 for Bengals off the wire seems appealing for my team build.

Thoughts?

McLaughlin for me, he looked good on the field. There is an out in Perine's contract, and they have no money. Also seems like someone Payton will want to succeed.

Separately, I always struggle with this type of thing. There's like 100 guys people are recommending we stash this time of year (obviously exaggerating) but like 1 or 2 roster spots. I really want someone to publish an article listing guys we should just give up on at this point lol, that'd be more helpful than a list of sleepers.

Spiller would be my third choice. I think he's a limited upside JAG.

Although I like Iosivas and roster him in one league along with Jones to see what happens with Higgins/Boyd, I'd lean toward McLaughlin. There's more value upside in a RB that becomes FF viable than a WR3/4. Plus IMO McLaughlin has shown more in his time on the field.

Spiller sucks, I'd probably keep McLaughlin over Iosivas

Spiller has not looked good, but I still hope he can put something together after another offseason and hopefully more touches. Still right now, McLaughlin looks like the stash.
