Having not read the thread. Not sure how kmet is not rated. At least by the op.
2nd in the league in tuddies since the middle of last season. Or at least that is what the talking heads told me during the last bears telecast

Hey, this is a discussion thread! Kmet is likely skyrocketing with Caleb in town if that comes to pass. I’d put him top 10 but back end. Kmet to me is a classic guy like Njoku, idk if he’s breaking in a tier higher. Laporta was my TE1 overall in my list so don’t get where any Laporta gripe is coming.

Yup, I put Kmet in that bin of backend TE1 guys like Engram, Njoku, Schultz, etc. They're good TE, but I don't see the elite talent to be a top end TE. Nothing wrong with that and I said earlier that Kmet would be had a lot cheaper than Pitts. I worry about his situation a little as there's really no other pass catcher there aside from DJM. If they add someone, he could be forced down the pecking order a bit.

As far as where I would take then in a startup would go something like
Laporta/Hock
McBride/Kincaid/Andrews
Bowers/Kelce/Pitts/Kittle
Kmet/Ferg/etc

I hear you on the proving it thing in general and I get it, I’ll point out McBride is averaging 47 YPG and Kincaid is at 43 YPG. So when we say prove it, not crazy, I totally get Ertz took valuable snaps from McBride but that’s arguably what Knox has done to Kincaid (hopefully it goes away). Let’s see how they close out the year and revisit I think. If we ignore external factors their pacing is quite similar. Kincaid also had the rookie learning curve I’d think.

Ertz and Knox both went down in week 7. Since then (in full PPR), McBride is averaging 16.2 PPG in 6 games and Kincaid is averaging 13.8 in 5 games...and 1 of McBride's games was with Clayton Tune at QB. If you exclude that absolute dumpster fire (58 yards of offense), McBride is averaging 18.4 PPG in 5 games. 3 games of 21+ in that span while Kincaid has yet to hit 18 on the season. Don't get me wrong, what Kincaid is doing right now is also impressive but I personally would rather have McBride going forward given (1) eye test - he makes absurd grabs every week, (2) Kyler often looks his way during crunch time (he had like 5 or 6 targets during an end of half 2 minute drill last week), (3) elite advanced stats, and (4) posted a huge game literally the 1st week after Ertz went down against an elite defense (Ravens) and is continuing to get significant target share and production since (averaging almost 9 targets/game in 4 games with Kyler).

I think McBride is still undervalued by a lot of people, and if I had someone like LaPorta, Hock or Andrews in a league that isn't past the trade deadline, I'd be checking with the McBride owner to see if they'd be willing to add to him for a swap.

IDK if Chicago is going to take a QB. Honestly. They may trade back and get Harrison and LT/DE and try to work with Fields. They can't develop ANYONE at QB, so maybe they stay with Fields? IDK. Kmet, it's not all his fault. But I'm holding my shares.

They're taking a QB. CW is better than Fields is right now and you can't win in this league without a QB so regardless of if "they can't develop ANYONE at QB" you've got to continue to take shots when they're available.

I also believe they're just really bad at picking QBs. There's a reason Fields was completely off multiple QB needy team's draft board and their other QB selections have all been suspect talents. CW is a lay up for at least top 16 QB play.. don't get cute Chicago

I'd have a very hard time believing that.. kind of feels similar to the people saying JAX might take Zach Wilson in 2021.

But if there's a franchise that would do something idiotic like that.. The Franchise that chose Mitch Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes and (gag) Deshaun Watson might be it

Man, do I love to see this attitude out of a very athletic TE. This kind of mind set keeps them on the field in every down/distance scenario, which provides opportunities. He’s starting to show his receiving chops with Musgrave out and I see him doing nothing but getting better - maybe a lot better. Might be a great buy low chance at this point in his career.
