Burrow/1.02 vs Murray/ARSB

Postby CGW » Tue Nov 28, 2023 6:18 am

Full rebuild, looking at 2025+ to compete
12tm SF PPR
QB RB RB WR WR WR TE FL SF
Murray
No RBs
ARSB, Olave, Flowers, Addison, JSN, Reed, Dotson
No TEs

I own the 1.01, mid 2024 1st and three 2025 1sts.

Worth selling a top 5 WR in ARSB to get Burrow and Harrison?

I wouldn't argue against someone else doing it, but not for me. I would not want to step down from Kyler to Burrow, and lose ARSB, and lose a mid 1st, just to get MHJr. Not enough juice in that squeeze for me.

But, I could see why you or anyone else might go for it. If MHJr is your guy, it's not the sort of bad trade that should stop you. Go get your guy if you want him that badly.

You'd view Murray to Burrow a downgrade long term?

Too much to pay IMO. That '24 mid first is going to be valuable. You're looking at Nabers/Bowers/QB.

Burrow > Kyler
MHJr > ARSB

I take this trade in a re-build all day, you give up a mid-1st and get back the 2 better assets. You don't need MHJr to produce year 1 as you're playing for 2025 and by year 2 he'll be a top 5 WR.

I like the deal overall on value but you are taking on the risk. Most seem to still act like St Brown is not an elite WR but he is in fantasy. Harrison Jr. could get there, but that is an unknown far or not. I do think the value is on the Burrow + side however based on Burrow's value and the annual over valuing of early picks. Based on where Harrison Jr. is already being valued, you could move that pick for a haul in the offseason if you wanted to.

I do. At minimum I view it as a wash. But over the next 3-5 years I would rather have Kyler than Burrow because I think Kyler has the potential to put up better fantasy production. I think Burrow is a good fantasy QB, but I think Kyler is a better one.

In 2020, Kyler had an incredibly higher PPG than Burrow.
In 2021, Kyler had a higher PPG than Burrow.
In 2022, Burrow had a slightly higher PPG than Kyler.
In 2023, Kyler has a significantly higher (30%+) PPG average.

Ended up making the trade. This cements me in with the 1.01 and 1.02 picks this year. Let's hope MHJ is the star he looks to be.

Burrow, Pitts, 1.02
For
Murray, ARSB, 2024 1st(3rd place team currently), 3rd

Maybe one year Burrow will play a full season and Harrison does not get drafted by the Bears or some other team you wish he was not drafted by. (Wondering how Seattle is going to screw up my draft pick/fantasy team again this year)
Team 1: 16 Team
QB's: Fields, Wentz,
RB: D. Harris, D. Montgomery, Kendre M.
WR: Chase, AJ Brown, Aiyuk, Bateman
TE: Waller, J. Woods, Dulich, Mayer

Team 2: 12 Team SF 1ppr, Start 10
QB: Mahomes, Burrow, Watson
RB: Hall, Walker, Javonte, Pacheco, K Mitchell, Dobbins
WR: Godwin, JSN, Pittman, Pickens, Toney, DP Jones, S Moore
TE: Andrews, Fant, Likely
(2024) 1.03, 2.03, 3.03
(2025) Top 3 1st, my 1st

Team 3 SF, TEP, Start 11 ppr
QB: AR, Watson, Young, Levis
RB: ETN, Walker, Pierce, Akers, Pacheco, Herbert, Warren, Kelley
WR: G. Wilson, Higgins, Godwin, Kirk, Bateman, Collins, Doubs, Chark, Shaheed,

You act like Burrow didn’t just do that back to back years. lol

Agree on the Harrison part though. I think he’s talented enough to not care too much right now, but he could definitely end up in a crappy spot.

You got your guy. So good for you. MHJR won't disappoint.
(But this was costly IMO!)
