Big trade, who won?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Big trade, who won?

Postby kalebseaton » Thu Oct 12, 2023 1:20 pm

After a terrible start to the year and a poor startup draft, I decided to blow it up. Would like to know if I got a good haul, or should have held out for a better deal

Sent:
- Joe Burrow
- Ceedee Lamb

Received
- Anthony Richardson
- 2024 1st
- 2025 1st
- 2024 2nd
- 2025 2nd

These picks are more than likely going to be late rounders.

12 team SF

I think you could have done better. I am not sure Richardson is going to hold up unless he really changes his game to stay healthy in the NFL and I think this is moving low on Burrow who is having a slow start and possibly Lamb too. It's in the books, so hopefully the 1sts end up early.

I don't hate it, but I would have liked it a lot more if those two seconds were another first instead.

Cedee worth 2x 1sts alone. It'd take considerably more than 2x 2nds to get me to move from Burrow to Richardson.

Not a fan, mainly because I'm not a fan of ARich. Too me Lamb is worth the 2 1st rd picks alone, and I'd prefer JoeyB over Arich and the picks don't make up the difference here. I think in a 12 team SF the picks alone are the value of Lamb or pretty close, and if they are late 1st rds it makes this deal a bit more lopsided. Good luck.

The only reason I would like your trade is if those picks were early—top 3 or 4. If later, then IDK, man, sorry, don't love it. If you're looking at 1.01, 1.02, 2.01, 2.02 nice. But it doesn't sound like that's what you got. If you're in the top four and can get TWO of Caleb, Maye, Harrison, and Bowers, that's nice.

Problem is that this isn't (wasn't) the time to sell either Lamb or Burrow. They are both experiencing a dip in value due to uncharacteristic poor performance. I 100% believe both will bounce back.

Also I hate to say it but I'm starting to wonder about Richardson. I love what I see and would like to feel good owning him. But we can't ignore that he hasn't finished 3/4 games he's played and is now out for an extended period of time. I wonder if managers are going to deal with this or that IND puts the reigns on him a bit - either is bad. We were discussing this a bit in the Stroud thread and I think folks were more or less saying they'd rather own Stroud at this point. Definitely feels safer.
