Rebuilding, but 4-1 with bottom 3rd in points

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rebuilding, but 4-1 with bottom 3rd in points

Postby zoster80 » Tue Oct 10, 2023 11:04 am

I'm a rebuild in Zo Nasty below

All of my young WR's blowup when I put them in my lineup, Doubs, Mims, Flowers, G Davis, but obviously, these guys aren't consistent...

Should I stay the course and continue to suck 110 points a game and end up around as a fringe playoff team or barely miss or should I use some of my draft capital and actually go for it?

I already tried to move Bijan for either Chase or JJ, but neither are interested, no other package is worth entertaining. I really don't want to move my WR's unless it's an established guy

The good news is that I own the worst team in the league 1st and 2nd so I should have the 1.01 and 2.01 and another top 6 pick, besides mines so I will have 5 of the top 13 picks next year.

For me this roster is a long way from "going for it." Stay the course and continue to retool

x2

Try to sell guys like Doubs and Gabe off of those blow up games (I'm assuming you've tried), get their points off your roster entirely. Your picks are looking good in 2024. Be willing to sell anything that's not foundational. Stay the course

Stay the course and keep building. I think you answered your own question too when you mentioned no other packages are worth it. No need to rush anything and keep building. Young builds can be frustration because of this but you committed to it and now need to keep looking long term.

I'm in a similar situation with an overachieving rebuild... at this point, be patient and stay the course. Hopefully, you're rebuilding for the long haul.

If, for some reason, your team continues to overachieve and you're a shoo-in for the playoffs, seeing that you have 5 first-round picks, I might consider making a minor move with one of your later projected 1sts to see if you might make a run. I'd wait until about week 9 or 10 to decide this.
