I would be 100% fine if they stopped TNF, but money talks and I am sure Amazon put up a pretty penny to stream it. I heard a stat that something like 22 of the 25 most watched TV shows last year were NFL games, with the others being the college championship game, Oscars, and I forget the 3rd. There seems to be a better chance of the NFL adding more nights than getting rid of TNF.

Im conflicted, all your points make sense, but I love knowing there is a game on Thursday night.

The wait for Sunday would be tedious but a better game would probably make it worth while.

Also, this is the first season where we've had two MNF doubleheaders. Would not be surprised if that number increases going forward to where 3-4 weeks have 2 MNF games.

There would be streaming services lining up if the NFL wants to air on another day of the week. Netflix, Hulu, Apple+, etc.

yeah, i alluded to that, i have no idea how much is the difference in price between a prime(ish) time game vs a normal one. i guess it's substantial, but i don't have a clue even about the order of magnitude, could be 50% more profitable or 1000% for all i know.

Friday/Saturday will never happen.

I would be in favor of Tuesday night over Thursday. At least it's 1 day closer to the bulk of the games. Going from Tuesday to Sunday gives you 4 days in between, while Sunday to Thursday is only 3.

I would be in favor of Tuesday night over Thursday. At least it's 1 day closer to the bulk of the games. Going from Tuesday to Sunday gives you 4 days in between, while Sunday to Thursday is only 3.

Plus, I imagine there's pushback from the NCAA for Friday/Saturday games, as the NFL would sink their ratings if they aired simultaneously.

I think the NFL likes the arrangement of High School Football on Friday, College on Saturday and NFL on Sunday. Don’t think they want to mess with their recruitment pipeline and they realize that they can only play so many games a week, so having this setup helps keep football top of mind.
