Could not believe Shaheed was dropped at cut down in our 12 team 27 man roster league, many in this league are not tot savvy. I was planning on getting him cheap but after Sunday I'm thinking of bidding about 18%. May even go higher as not much will be on the wire through the year with this roster size.
12 Team PPR Scoring:
QB: Purdy, Pickett, Howell, Rodgers
RB: Bijan, Kamara, A. Jones Spears Allgeier, Tucker, Hunt
WR: ARSB, Ridley, Nacua, E. Moore, Hollywood, Addison, Mingo, Mooney,

I almost always blow my entire budget week 1 or two. 12tm 25+ rosters and it's a wasteland.

I have the #1 waiver spot. Debating between Shaheed or Kelly. Leaning Kelly as this is a non-por and RBs are hard to get. Who knows what happens to Ekler next year.

14 team 19 roster spots and it is also a wasteland. I tend to be conservative at the start of the year and then there is rarely anyone later on worth dumping my leftover FAAB on. Just lost Dobbins and the only real 2 adds on our waivers are Justice Hill and Josh Kelley. I only have space for 1 and I’m thinking of bidding on Hill but I have no clue what a reasonable amount is. I just don’t think he is very good but the opportunity is there especially if Gus gets hurt again. Do I go heavy just to add the RB depth? I still have Bijan and Mattison with Swift and Gibson on the bench. I’m sure there is someone in my league that will drop at least $50 on him. I was leaning around $33 and if I don’t get him I’ll live with it.

Man, it's weird to see dynasty leagues with such small rosters. I feel suffocated working with fewer than 25-30 spots. To me the foresight and active management required to pick over slim waiver offerings is what makes dynasty so much more fun than redraft.

I agree with the strategy of using lots of FAAB early, especially preseason and the first few weeks. Good time to grab guys flashing talent and in my leagues at least it seems people are too stingy with their FAAB early on, then all compete to blow it on a 2-week stopgap JAG later on.

Might be worth looking at Melvin Gordon as well.

Turns out I was off a bit. I won Hill at $33 and next closest bid was $27. I feel good about it considering how barebones the wire tends to be. Someone in the group chat asked me if I was going $100 on Hill since I lost Dobbins so I thought that was going to spike a bidding war but I guess not. Someone went $36 on Kelley which I didn’t expect. The Ekeler owner wasn’t thrilled since he bid $13 hoping to steal him cheap.

I see Justice Hill going for massive $$ amounts, but doesn’t it seem just as likely if not more that Melvin Gordon will be “the guy”? Maybe it’s just me.

I don't think anybody will be "the guy" unless they sign somebody.
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

What makes Melvin Gordon different than someone they would sign?

If last season was any preamble, a couple of early fumbles could lead to him being benched and given a very small role. I was a big Mel guy heading into last season, but it seems like he lost a lot of oomph between the '21 and '22 seasons. I think he's close to done.

Some backup QBs/RBs are being dropped as a result of the early WW runs in one of my 12tm SuperFlex leagues.

It's a league with a bit more shallow rosters (21-man). Who would you prioritize of these options:

- Malik Willis
- Tyler Huntley
- Aiden O'Connel
- Zamir White
- Chris Evans
- Jordan Mason

Gordon is likely toast, but I get your point. Could be any of the 3 RB left really. I would expect it to be Gus/Hill with Gordon sprinkled in.

I like O'Connell as a SF stash, Malik a little less. But in 12x21, most of these guys are waiver fodder or close to it. Zamir should probably be cuffed by the Jacobs owner.

With that shallow of rosters probably none. Who are the drops?
