Olave and Burks

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Olave and Burks

Postby Dgwaz » Fri Jun 09, 2023 5:45 am

Hey guys, I have Garrett Wilson and JSN, at this point I want to complete the Ohio trio. My leaguemate wants Burks and a 2024 1st for Olave. Is it worth it? I know Olave is good but Burks has so much promise still. It wasn’t long ago he was projected to be a 1.01 pick. In addition, a 2024 1st isn’t something to just throw away. On the other hand it’s Olave and he’s sick. Thoughts?

EDIT: I’m a contending team, I won last year

I'm not as high as consensus on Burks by a long shot. factor in the TN downgrade, for this year at least for sure, and he's not too exciting for a win now by any means, imo.

I like Olave a lot, but I think the market is too high on him, as well. Olave is only projecting as a solid WR2 at this time, and the market reflects a top 6 Wr price it seems. personally, I would give a late 1st for Olave if I was a contender. I think he will be a stable asset and a solid addition to a WR room with someone like Wilson who for sure looks like a perennial WR1.

But I think a 1st plus Burks is too high a price for Olave

Burks has a lot more to prove in year #2 than Olave but I do think the price is a bit high based on overall value and potential of both assets. If you can get it done for a 2nd instead of the 1st, I think the price is much better but the 1st on top feels a bit pricey despite Olave being the better asset.

I'd probably hold, but it's not bad if it's a late 1st and Olave is your guy

Olave is my guy. I’m taking it in a heartbeat (assuming it’s not looking like a top 5 2024 pick). Better player in a better offense with a better QB. Olave looks just as good as Wilson…I don’t see a difference between the two. The sky is the limit for both, and I wouldn’t find ways to cap the upside of either.
SF, PPR, 12 team, 12 player dynasty

QB- Lawrence, Fields, Tannehill (max 2 keepers, 3 rostered)
RB- Bijan Robinson, T Pollard, Allgeier, Charbonnet, Achane, J Wilson, Kelley, K Williams
WR- Lamb, Jeudy, Hill, C Olave, A Pierce, Shaheed, Bourne
TE- Goedert, Musgrave

Where’s the 1st projected? If it’s late this is fine. Anything else I’d hold.

Olave over Burks and late 1st

Burks and early 1st over Olave.

The Burks love is probably too high but I am intrigued myself so I get it. Burks hype too high and Olave too low. Just keep that in mind.

Chase, Lamb, Waddle, Olave, London Drake, Demario Davis, Jake Bobo

Kyle Pitts, Mark Andrews, Kincaid, Schoonmaker

24 picks - 1x2, 3,4,5

What kind of deal would you personally do that includes either treylon burks or a first?

I think you got that backwards.

If anything, Olave hype is definitely too high right now.
Listed as WR8 in dynasty on KTC right now screams SELL to me.

Burks as WR23 says buy to me.

Yeah it’s a projected late first, I won the league last year and the team is stacked

Olave for me. I’m not a fan of Burks and would struggle to pay a late 1st for him. Even if I called him a late 1st, that’s two late 1sts for Olave. Give me Olave.
