No concern at all. Dallas is built differently and McCarthy shouldn't go backwards. TE is a needed position in this offense and Dak loves his TE's.ericanadian wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 8:16 amNo concerns about McCarthy taking over that offense? Green Bay TEs were almost always long on hype, but usually short on production (a couple flash years here and there)Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 7:25 amThere's not much film out there on either but from what I can see, Schoonmaker is the better route runner and receiver right now in my opinion, plus you have to LOVE the opportunity with Dallas that turns total turds into TE1's. Kraft is more raw in both receiving (and blocking, oddly enough), but if Kraft improves I think he will have the ability to be better longer term.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 6:39 am one of the 3rds was an agonizing decision that took me 1/2 hr to make between Kraft and Schoonmaker before I finally went with the talent edge over the opportunity because IMO they were so close.
McCarthy has been known as a solid play caller that uses his talent well.
Dallas TE's are pretty much the opposite, Short on Hype and Long on production.
Dak's strength looks to be intermediate timing routes between the hash-marks off play action. His weakness are out routes. TE's don't run a lot of those.
Schoonmaker looks to have a plus mature mental makeup and it wouldn't surprise me if he turns out to be the best TE in this class. He has a good build, plus speed, and is in a very good system to play a ton of snaps. They see a Witten type player IMO. Witten never left the field playing in the high 90% of offensive snaps.
Volume should be his friend. Time will tell but he could have a very bright future.
