It depends Beav. The board not being solidified yet also leads to some bargains in the 2nd and even 3rd rounds at times

Re: GEDL Rookie Draft 2023
Charbonnet at 1.08 has been the best value so far. He's a great landing spot away from arguably being 1.02.
Also love Miller at 9, Downs at 11, and Achane at 2.01
Mims at the end of the first is really interesting. Strong prospect profile, though a lot of intrigue was that we'd be stealing him in the late 2nd.
Kincaid at 7 remains the pick with the most room for disappointment to me. Strong receiver, but going TE this early in a draft is usually not wise. You really have to hope he walks into a lot of volume right away.

Re: GEDL Rookie Draft 2023
I disagree on the Kincaid pick.
He plays TE like a WR. He has plus movement skills and and plays from the ground up in and out of breaks. He also finishes hard.
I get the old school thought about TE's but when picking in a draft like this prior to the NFL draft in only a 1 RB must start league, taking a player that is a near lock to play 10 years at a high level matters.
Like the Charbonnet comment, Landing spot matters but Charbonnet is a an upright runner and not in a D. Henry kind of way. He is good but could be a 1 contract player.
Kincaid on tape has a Kelce quality about him. He should go in the first round and probably the top half.
I hope he falls to the 2nd in my drafts which are after the NFL draft. I see a pass catching TE that could easily be in the 70 catch range as a rookie and by year 3 could be an all pro with his upside.
One just has to review his 16 catch game on 16 targets against USC to see his route acumen on full display. Having huge hands with excellent body control doesn't hurt either.

I think I may have to consider taking you on as a co-owner or at least in charge of my PR dept - could not have explained my decision making process any better. The only comment I can add is that if he goes 1st round - the odds of producing a minimum of a top 12 TE season are almost 95% (and this is a 14 team league) and around 50% if he goes in the 2nd round of the NFL. At 1.07 (or other mid 1st positions) in a 1QB league I believe it is common knowledge that the odds of any rookie player hitting are 50% at best (to be lineup worthy), so I locked in a BPA whose odds are 50-90% of producing starter worrthy production.Ice wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 8:23 am I disagree on the Kincaid pick.

Anyways only 1 owner made an effort to move up (I didnt have the time to send out offers to gauge other owners interest) and as it turns out if I had moved back I'd likely have missed on Kincaid as several other owners said they would have taken him by the end of the 1st.
I concur with Ice that he is likely the #3 BPA regardless of position based on production, metrics, tape & likely projected Draft pedigree.
Rather have my BPA than make incremental value improvements if that means missing out.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

Re: GEDL Rookie Draft 2023
How valuable is a singular Top-12 season from a TE in a rookie draft like this? Is it Top-7 good? That's my thought, especially when there are players who could produce singular or multiple RB1 seasons available, which is significantly more valuable and impactful.ArrylT wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 9:32 am

I don't hate drafting for floor, but I think there's so much upside available at that point, that I'm not sold it's worth it.

For fun who would you have swapped at every non 1.01 pick?
1.10 I dunno about anyone specifically. I just have Hyatt buried since I am not a believer.
1.13 I dont draft rookie TEs with any premium or semi premium capital, would have preferred RB or WR here. Ill take my chances at TE with late 2nds or early 3rds.
1.15 Same as Hyatt. Not a believer in a well below 200lb RB being consistent for fantasy purposes. Maybe he flashes for a year and you can flip. But I will always bet against RBs with this build type.
Re: GEDL Rookie Draft 2023
I just took the first player who's not in the MFL database yet. Bryce Ford-Wheaton WR out of West Virginia. 6'4" 221 lbs and ran a 4.38 at the combine. He's getting some buzz and could be an early day 3 pick the way things are trending.

I’d prefer Downs but again I think the nfl will value Hyatt so it’s safer from a value perspective.
I don’t mind thebTE pick for all the reasons mentioned earlier about security.
I’m not sure who I would really prefer over Achane at that point. It gets pretty sketchy in general.
I’m curious how much post NFL draft trading goes on with rookies in this league. Once the NFL draft settles rankings out does the league tend to become active again or will everyone just keep who they have?
If active, I think guys like Hyatt/TEs are smart picks, even if you don’t love them.
