Draft this week, Looking for advice at 1.09

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Draft this week, Looking for advice at 1.09

Postby ekilla183 » Tue May 24, 2022 3:51 pm

My team is in the signature, 10 Team league with 12 Keepers, 1QB PPR

Draft is 10 rounds consisting of all rookies as well as players cut durning roster trimming. Usually rounds 1 and 2 are rookie heavy and the vets start getting taken in round 3 (sometimes mid-late round 2 but only if theres a clear value).

My main question is, given my team build where would you go at 1.09 and 2.04? I feel far more confident in the WR in that range, though I also feel like (due to my team construction) my RB's have a few more question marks.

Would you roll with BPA and look at the likes of Skyy, Pickens, Dotson, Watson, etc.? and if so, who are your favorites of that group?
OR would you reach a bit and go with my bigger team need of RB and take the likes of Cook, White, Pierce, Spiller, etc.?
I feel like BPA is probably the safer choice value wise, but I am also really having trouble deciding between Skyy and Pickens (both with talent and good situations, but crowded pass catching rooms), Dotson with his draft capital OR taking a swing on an RB like Cook at 1.09.

Side note: notable cut vets are DPJ, Chark, Goedert, Boyd, Kirk, Hunter Henry, Golladay, Sermon, Albert O, Gainwell, Khalil Herbert, Gus, Kmet, Gage and Trautman

Appreciate any input!

I'd rather have Goedert than any of the rookies in that range. Then I probably look at Skyy, then Watson, then Dotson. I'm not into the RBs in that range much at all. Feels like a slew of backup RBs who will be useful in spots but never be a keeper.

Goedert is a really good TE option and he gives you another option behind Hock.

I like Pickens and Spiller in that range as far as the rookies go. It may be a bit early in the 2nd, but Metchie too.

I dont think cook is a bad pick if you are feeling like rb is your biggest need he got taken 2nd round of nfl draft and is going to be part of a strong offense. id just take whatever wr you like most at 2.04 if you dont have a guy you feel like you gotta have
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore
Njoku , HH, Engram

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

Kenny Clark, josh allen, jaelen phillips, felix a-u and a bunch of fluff and rookie fliers at idp

go back and look at the previous rookies have been drafted at that position... tell me how many have been worth Goe after their 3rd yr.

Take the sure thing, don't look back

If you really like Cook, I wouldn't shy away from him, he has a good chance to be fantasy relevant in that offense right away. Dotson is probably the safest play as he is the most talented out of the group of WRs and has the draft capital. You could also hope that one of those 4 WRs falls to you at 2.04, I highly doubt Cook will. I would also be heavily considering Goedert in the 2nd round as well with you only having Hock at TE.
