2020 covid offseason I traded away Kupp, 2021 3rd for Sutton and a 2021 2nd.

Didn't like Kupp going forward with Goff, and thought Sutton was going to explode. And is also 3 years younger.

Right now we don't know if Ridley is going to play again this year, or ever again. He says he's taking time away from the game, he has mental health issues. I don't know if he'll ever come back. Okay, so maybe I'd trade Heinicke for him, but right now, those three guys have very little if any value. It's a very high risk on Ridley. But to add in Pitts and a 3rd? Come on, that's insane.
we will agree to disagree on this one. This was not a bad trade offer

If Ridley was healthy and playing, sure. But dude, he may retire. This is EXTREMELY risky. And Pitts is possibly a generational talent. Ridley is the #29 WR right now.

Ridley may also come back and regain his top 10 status. Not knocking you for not taking the trade, but is was a very fair offer.

And monkeys may fly out of my butt. LOL. I saw the offer as extremely risky for a top TE and a decent starting QB. His offer carries WAY more risk, not to mention what I paid to GET Pitts. SO, we'll have to agree to disagree. Ridley post JJ healthy and happy? Sure. Now? WAY too much risk for me.

I did the math after the season and it pretty much cost me the ship that year. I asked about the trade and almost everyone said take it: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=189438&hilit=sanders

No sour grapes. DJ fell off a cliff that season and it's just the way the cookie crumbled :) I did roll the 2nd into a trade that landed my AJB, so that's nice.

Speaking about Ridley's value, this is from DLF today:

Dynasty Impact: First and foremost, we hope Ridley gets the help he needs and returns to the NFL soon. When he does, he’ll still be considered one of the top receivers in the game. But for those dynasty teams with Ridley, they’ll have to do what the Falcons will do – wait. You won’t find a market for him since no one knows when he’ll return. And there’s a greater-than-zero chance he retires permanently. So hold on to him and consider him the ultimate taxi player until further notice.

Auction keeper/salary league. Ended up cutting both Davis and Williams that off season. All but Davis are still pretty solid keeper values. Ouch.

I did win 2019 and runner up 2020 so didn’t kill me, but man it hurts looking back.

Not a trade, but shortly after Robert Woods left Buffalo after not looking like anything worth much (2017 ish), I dropped him for a bye week defense. That I dropped after that week.

I picked up Tyreek Hill for free (didn't even use FAAB $) very early in his 2016 rookie season. Traded him that offseason for two 2nd round picks, 1 in 2017 and the next in 2018. The picks became Deshaun Watson and James Washington. But even if I "hit" on one of the picks, that was probably a very impatient undersell of a great player.

I was probably worried about his 5th round draft pedigree or my misperception of how he'd be used. Perhaps the lesson is to be more patient and don't try to "profit" from a player just because he was a free agent pickup.

Actually, now that I think about it...I also traded two 1sts for Peyton Manning RIGHT before the wheels came off in his final season I think. That one hurt too! Turnovers are -6 in my league and I recall a game against KC where he threw like 4 INTs and was WAY negative for me that game. Ouch.
"Marathon Square" - 16 team full PPR league with 24 player roster. Keep 16 per year indefinitely, draft 8. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Team DST
QB: Jordan Love, Deshaun Watson
RB: Travis Etienne, Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, Kendre Miller, Jaleel McLaughlin, Sean Tucker, Deuce Vaughn
WR: A.J. Brown, Garrett Wilson, Tee Higgins, Calvin Ridley, Michael Wilson, Kendrick Bourne, Tutu Atwell, Allen Lazard, Isaiah Hodgins, Justin Shorter
TE: T.J. Hockenson, Cole Kmet, Kylen Granson
K: Didn't make the playoffs in 2023  , and don't usually hold one in the offseason
Team DST: Cowboys, Lions

Picks:
2024: 1.06, 2.06, 4.06, 5.06, 6.06, 7.06, 8.06

Disclaimer: My one and only Championship in this league was way back in 2011. Therefore, take my replies with the appropriate grain of salt.

Drafted CMC in a highly competitive dynasty and then with a surplus of RBs, I traded him straight up for Adams to fill a void at WR1. At some point, it occurred to me that I could flip Adams and a 2nd for the new stud RB in dynasty circles...Jordan Howard.

I'll just leave my story there...you know the rest.
