Adams vs Jefferson

Postby CGW » Thu Jun 03, 2021 8:13 am

Team 1 in signature. Feel I'm a competitor.
Adams obviously gives a positional advantage at WR for a competitor, but getting younger is always nice. What are the thoughts on these two currently?

Pure preference here. Adams is arguably the best WR in fantasy but is getting older and based on what we have seen with Hopkins and Jones, his value will start to drop quickly regardless of what he does on the field. Adams is the safer asset as of now especially if Rodgers stays but Jefferson's value will go through the roof if he has another solid year.

I have Adams slightly ahead of Jefferson based on his floor, but they are pretty close overall on the market based on the age difference. If you want Jefferson, this is likely the last time this deal will get done one for one all factors considered. Young assets are always more valuable when they have produced.

This kind of move can keep you contending for years to come. If I could get Jefferson for Adams right now I'd have to do it. Enjoy a Top-10 producer for the next 10 years and look back on this in a year or two and think about what a steal it was.

yeah. Adams might have the slight edge this year but JJ should be around as long as Adams has.

Is this an offer on the table or hypothetical? It disgusts me to admit as a Packers fan, but I think I would rather have Jefferson. It wouldn't surprise me at all if a Jefferson owner turned down Adams in a 1 for 1 swap.

Both pieces are built for win-now mode as Jefferson had elite rookie production. Adams was WR1, but most likely only has a couple years left in the mold of a top 5 WR. Jefferson will continue to produce very well for the next 7+ years unless he goes full Justin Blackmon mode.

Stupid accept if the Jefferson owner actually agrees to this. Adams will be elite this year, maybe the next two. Jefferson will be elite for the next 7-10.

Adams for me, with or without Rodgers. He'll be dominant for 3 years, and that's the max horizon one can reasonably have in fantasy.

I think I'd make this move for Jefferson. Hate to say it, but unless Watson's issues get resolved without a suspension from the league you're pretty tight on QB's for 2021. That leaves Adams another year older, and likely decreases his value. This is a swap you might well not have available to you next offseason. Additionally, it's no guarantee Rodgers returns to Green Bay anyway, and I have to believe a switch to Love would lower Adams' ceiling.

It's a little risky, but not a bad price for Jefferson based on what I've seen some owners want in return for him.

I agree here.

Adams is the better play in the next season or two. Jefferson's value is already at the same level as Adams'. I don't believe it can go any higher. That said, the difference down the line will not be that his value increases, but rather that Adams' decreases. I'm already having a hard time finding a taker for fair value and that's nuts.

Kind of a coin flip...really depends on how focused you are on going all in for the next couple years. I would prefer JJ. Both are probably at their highest remaining trade value. Even if JJ keeps it up I doubt his value goes much higher. And Adams is getting older so his is on the way down.

Adams just went late second in a startup I am in. He is a beast when he is out there, but with Rodgers iffy situation at the moment, Adams age and also the fact that you can never get 16-17 games a season out of him this is not really that close currently. JJ may come down to earth a bit and we know what Adams is, but I am still taking JJ by plenty here.

Started my argument for Adams on a contender, but... I have AJB in a contender, and I have AJB and JJ pretty equal. Unsure I’d be able to swap him for Adams. Tough call here.

On a rebuild it’s a no brainer
main league, half PPR, all TDs 6, -3 for INT
12 team. 2019 champ, 2020 runner up, ‘21 3rd
start 2SF, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2WRT

QB: T Lawrence, K Cousins, R Wilson, Z Wilson
RB: K Walker, T Ettiene, JK Dobbins, D Gore, J Hasty, D Johnson, L Rountree
WR: JJ, AJB, A Cooper, Juju, C Kirk, J Dotson, N Westbrook-Ikhine, I McKenzie
TE. T Kelce, Pitts, Albert O, D Parham, J O’Shaunessy

Pretty clear decision.

If you're a contender, you gotta go Adams.

If you're looking to the future, you gotta go JJ due to the age factor.

Risks both ways - Obviously if Rodgers doesn't return, that sinks Adams value a good bit, but Adams has shown he can produce at WR1 levels with inferior QB play.

Love JJ, but what if this is Cousin's last year in Minnesota? He's clearly on borrowed time. Feels like JJ's risk of dropping production is greater with an unproven QB is than Adams' is.

JJ by alot. We dont even know if Rodgers plays. High probability JJ would outscore Adams without Rodgers
