At least one of the claims being reported in the media meets the threshold for rape.

I just can't imagine that with anything less than damning proof like a video, or a rape conviction in court that a team like the Pats, Eagles, Bears, Raider, and probably Denver wouldn't jump at the chance to make Deshaun their QB.

I still think the most likely worst case scenario is that he misses 2021 and returns next year on a new team.

2 years ago I sent a 3rd rd pick for Tyreek Hill when everyone was sure he was going to be suspended or in prison for a very long time. Hoping to make a similar deal for Watson this year.

If he is innocent, then he's really naïve to put himself in such a questionable situation.
Our yearly reminder that most professional athletes consistently forget that they are public figures with everything to lose.

That said, it's a civil suit, so even if he loses, the punishment from the NFL is unlikely to be anything serious.

I respect the accusations, but it's still a little funny to me that these accusations come out now and are orchestrated by someone with close ties to Texans ownership and a fishy history.

Just a tidbit for those that keep saying it's a civil suit, this is true for now. The lawyer pursuing the suit is also providing all of the evidence to police so an actual criminal investigation can also begin.

The HPD just tweeted and went directly against his claim, saying they have had no contact with Buzbee. I'm sure an investigation is inevitable, and that will be telling of Watsons future in the NFL.

I don't get this part of the conspiracy theory. What exactly is the idea here? That the Texans' owner would try and intentionally destroy the trade value of his greatest asset?

Somehow people think it would force Watson into staying. The only thing it would do is put McNair at risk of being forced to sell the team and Watson suing him if it ever came out the organization was involved in anyway. I know the Texans have done a lot of stupid stuff, but I highly doubt they are THAT stupid.

Crazy that not believing allegations until they have merit is perceived as a conspiracy theory. Is it innocent until proven guilty or the other way around?

People actually believe that?

The most suspicious part to me, is that the lawyer was soliciting this case on IG and took the post down. That's not normal or okay.
