Hixon's "great" catch

Postby Guppy CEO » Tue Sep 20, 2011 7:35 am

ok, does it say more for hixon that he eventually caught the ball, or that he it would have been an incomplete except for the lucky bounce off his shoulder pad since it went thru his hands?

EDIT: removed comment about handcuffing nicks in order to keep the discussion about hixon and not the merits of handcuffing.

Handcuffing WRs isn't a good idea. Hixon just isn't very good

He will get the start if Manningham can't go. Keep an eye on Manningham's progress this week.

i agree in general, but nicks misses enough time that we have to consider it. luckily last night, i had MSW in the wings if nicks couldnt play. but i've missed out on some nicks games because he was questionable at the point when i had to set my lineup. nicks would be one of the few wr that i would consider handcuffing.

but anyways, i didnt mean this to be a thread on handcuffing. it really was meant to discuss the catch, and his skills.

I commented on his skills...he isn't very good lol. I have watched him long enough. He makes the plays he shouldn't make and doesn't make the plays he should

I kinda wish Nicks woulda been ruled out so I could have played either Devery or Hixon...I would have won, instead of losing by 0.05!!!! lol I liked Hixon a couple years back, but I have seen no progress from him this season...one great catch doesnt make up for the fact it should have been an easy catch lol

It was a great catch as was the TD reception by Nicks. The Giants WR's are going to need to come up with these kind of catches if Eli continues to be so inaccurate...

I think Hixon leaves a lot to be desired as an NFL WR. I think he might be the luckiest WR in the NFL, which I suppose is something. I wouldn't bother with Hixon in the deepest of leagues.

Well.. it doesn´t matter anymore...
Giants lose Domenik Hixon to torn ACL again Giants WR Domenik Hixon has been diagnosed with a torn right ACL and will be out for the season.
It's the second time in 15 months that Hixon has blown out his right knee. This time, it leaves the Giants without their primary slot receiver. Victor Cruz and Brandon Stokley will now battle for reps in that role while Hixon will enter free agency this spring with no value. Hixon's season ends with four catches for 50 yards and a circus touchdown catch during which he suffered the tear.
