What move next? - Capitalist Pig bankroll

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What move next? - Capitalist Pig bankroll

Postby NickGB » Thu May 28, 2020 2:33 am

Okay, this is a capitalist pig bankroll SF, PPR, Must start 2 TE league. I have all my 2021 picks (except a 2nd round pick) and $550 rolling into our Devy Auction next week. Here is the current roster. I should note that my $550 is good for top 4 in the league for funds going into the Devy out of 24 teams.

Starting lineup: 1-2 QB, 1-5 RB, 2-6 WR, 2-6 TE

QB: Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Baker Mayfield, Teddy Bridgewater, Jordan Love, Trevor Lawrence*, Josh Rosen
RB: Cam Akers, Jonathan Taylor, D'Andre Swift, Ronald Jones, Bryce Love
WR: OBJ, Mike Evans, DJ Moore, Christian Kirk, Anthony Miller, Keelan Cole, K.J. Hill, ESB, James Washington
TE: George Kittle, Hurst, Albert O, Jordan Thomas, Gerald Everett

This is what we've come to about 3 years into the league. I took on the challenge of only rookies when it started and rolled all of my vet funds into the rookie / devy. I know I need another solid TE and have put feelers out there for Mark Andrews (The owners of Kelce wont budge)

What do you do going into the Devy and even potential trades that could potentially make this team a contender THIS year, let me know as maybe I'm overlooking things or even overthinking some potential trades. I would love to hear some thoughts!

Would be helpful if you listed the players talent wise from best to worst. Would be easier to read your roster.

I think that team is another year away from competing. It's still fairly young for the most part. I'd hold for now and just keep building, with plans to contend in 2021. Your top priority should definitely be another TE. Engram seems like he's been going for cheap lately, and I still have him top five. Maybe look at guys like Goedert and Gesicki. They can sometimes be had for too cheap, and I like them more than Hurst myself.

My apologies on the order, I've corrected it now. I was just reading down the list as I saw it and typed it (easier that way). I've been gunning hard for TE's but it just seems like people aren't willing to sell them in a must start 2 TE league. This league is tough to get trades through currently. It makes me feel like I have to really target TE in Devy and snag either Pitts or Jordan. However, I'm really keen on getting the Chase copy as well. Feel like if I can secure Chase + one of the two TE's there and then maybe target Etienne (still a fan) in 2021 that my team will be pretty young across the board and put me in position to compete for a number of years.

I would hold and keep building around your young core. You could be a solid contender come next season. I like your build a lot.

Yes, lol, they will still be expensive in a 2TE format, but you might be able to get them for cheaper than other TE's, relative to the format. If not though, then I'd just hold for now.

Appreciate it bro. I've actually really enjoyed this approach. I'll do as you both suggest as continue to hold and stick the course.

Oddly enough in a must start 2 TE league, you don't see them going for a whole lot in Devy and that's probably because of the limited taxi space (5) and the roi turnaround for a TE, that's a valuable roster spot as said above though, I'll continue to stay the course and hold for now though. Appreciate the feedback.
