Grossman to start

Postby Wallace's Warriors » Mon Sep 05, 2011 2:44 pm

Coach Mike Shanahan confirmed Monday that John Beck will open the season as the Redskins' No. 2 quarterback. We'll see how long it lasts. Rex Grossman will start against the Giants, but the New York pass rush doesn't present an especially inviting matchup for a quarterback prone to game-blowing mistakes and face-plant performances. We wouldn't be surprised to see Beck as soon as the third quarter of Week 1.

RB: Forte, Charles, Martin, Redman, Carter,R. Jennings, M. Bush, Vereen

Not much of a suprise and it really shouldn't affect too many teams other than in 2 QB Leagues...even then, using Wash QB's this season in any format would not be wise!

So how does that pep talk go in the locker room...

"Gentlemen, we're targeting a quarterback in the draft this upcoming season but for now we're going to let John and Rex do best 2 out of 3 in Rock, Paper, Scissors before each game. Heck, we're going to do that at every position this week. We'll keep our opponents guessing."
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Grossman is one QB that I'm not interested in rostering even if available. Too boom-or-bust and mostly bust. I thought Beck was worth a flyer simply because he's less proven to suck compared to Grossman. That said, I think won't be light-years away from Cutler in production. Better offensive line and better offense. Same penchant for turnovers. That said, Rex can be wildly inaccurate, which is why he's a bum in the first place. He'll be inconsistent but could have a few big games.
