Jay Gruden fired
Re: Jay Gruden fired
Moreso what it means for anyone who invested in Haskins, Guice, and McLaurin.

I would not rule that out at all. The Bengals ownership has been loyal (probably to a fault) to "their guys" on the coaching staffs, and I think Jay is a solid HC who was stuck in a terrible situation. Unfortunately I don't know how much better Cincy would be, ownership thereisn't great either but they aren't meddlesome. Also worry Jay might want to continue with the Dalton era if he did take over.ericanadian wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 3:58 pm Curious to see where he ends up. Were I the Bengals owner, I’d be thinking long and hard about making Taylor a one and done and bringing back Gruden...

This would be a wise move to be honest.ericanadian wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 3:58 pm Curious to see where he ends up. Were I the Bengals owner, I’d be thinking long and hard about making Taylor a one and done and bringing back Gruden...
Taylor was already thought to be a bad hire in many circles and while it is certainly early, he has not disproved that.
Re: Jay Gruden fired
Fair enough.
Personally I think it is at least situational irony that both Grudens chose to have Callahan on their staff, and both times that a Gruden got fired/departed that Callahan took over. IE I dont think the intent of the Grudens when they hired Callahan was for him to replace them.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

As a Giants fan I always thought Gruden did a pretty good job considering his bad luck and what his trash owner and GM were giving him.
Re: Jay Gruden fired
Apparently many in the league expect the Redskins to promote current OC Kevin O'Connell to HC after the season. It would be a young under-qualified HC that Snyder/Allen can control and pay bottom of the barrel money for a HC, and they won't be able to get anyone with other options anyway. It's the stereotypical Redskins move.
