Rebuild question -superflex

Postby Brettxpw » Tue Apr 30, 2019 7:04 pm

I acquired a superflex team this year. I currently only have 1.11, 2.08, and a few 4th round picks. I have 3 2020 1st rounders.

I have a few pieces left that I can try to move ... Mike Evans and Zach Ertz. Should I be trying to move up in this year’s draft? My QBs are Manning, Bridgewater, Mullens, Hill and Gabbert. I need to do something to address that. Someone will trade me 1.01 for Evans straight up, but I’m not sure that is enough of a return.

I don’t expect to be competitive for a few years, but I’m new to dynasty and I’m just trying to figure out if I’m better off waiting for a QB from the next draft and stocking up on skill position players.

It's a chain of events. If you trade away Evans and Ertz for picks this year, you'd be doing two sub-optimal things:

1) Getting players in a lesser draft class (2020 should be far better -- especially at QB!); and
2) Potentially getting yourself another win or two in 2019, also potentially getting you a worse draft pick in 2020.

Put those together, and you are doubly motivated to seek 2020 picks; stock up on those first-rounders if you can! Don't get me wrong: 2019 picks are assets, and absolutely try to get them added in! But, they should be the secondary pieces rather than the primary ones.

In a superflex QBs are the most prized and expensive position. With Manning on his last stand, this should be you highest priority. That 1.01 will get you Kyler Murray. Now if you believe he will be a high upside success, I think this is the kind of deal you need to do. As long as Murray succeeds, he'll be playing for you long after Evans has gone. I certainly believe and would definitely make that deal. Good luck!

Even in superflex, I'd need 1.01+ to sell Evans.

I'd probably do Ertz for the 1.01. Evans would have to be like 1.01, 20 1st, + another piece. I don't see Kyler ranked as a top 10 QB yet by others

You can get a lot more than that for Evans. Rebuilding your team might not take as long as you think. I don't think you need to trade Evans. You can build around him. If I were you, I would wait until your 1.11 is on the clock and try to move it for another 2020 1st or take best player available. I would not try to move up.

Unless you can get as previously mentioned, 2020 1st +, as part of the deal: I'd like add my vote to the advice to hold Evans and build with him as a solid idea. Move Ertz if possible as well for 2020 1st. And if TE worries you, 1.11 for Hock, Fant is good value. A year from now, your rebuild potential is gonna be feeling great
