Ouch.
Getting more and more happy I did not invest in picks this year.

Just as I feared. This class is garbage as far as rbs go. The consensus top back is an unathletic backup with an injury history and a weak stat line. At least he caught a few balls and has a sweet 1 minute 30 second highlight reel where plays are shown twice with one in slow mo. Dropping him big time down the ranks. Laughable. Draft sanders early if you absolutely need a rb.

Yep. He and Elijah Holyfield were 2 guys I had interest in, now this RB class looks like Miles Sanders, Harris, Hill and not much else for me. That's just scary bad. It's WR"s and TE's. I have 6 firsts in a SF/TE premium, including 1.01 and 1.02, and I there is no way I'm taking Jacobs with either of those. Thank goodness for Hock and Fant.

He's not the consensus top back. Not around here, anyway, but in the mainstream, yeah. However, I agree with what you are saying. Don't get me wrong. Glad I traded two firsts in this class for Chubb last year, during our rookie draft.

There is actually precedent for a 4.6x RB going in the 1st round of the NFL draft. In recent history, Ingram (4.62) and Moreno (4.62).

Ingram ran a reported 4.53 at his pro day, Knowshon a 4.58. I know its not a huge difference, but they did put up sub-4.6 numbers at their pro days.

Also, 2011 and 2009 were a LONGGGG time ago in terms of how RB value is perceived.

I have 1.01 and really really need an Rb to go with Michel. Leaning more and more towards Sanders due to the buzz on here but these boards are not the best resource in my opinion, though they are a resource for sure and has its positives. Hopefully the actual website moves Sanders up, will make my decision a lot easier.

I'll say this, I don't think that anyone should be really dropping him down their rankings much due to these numbers. I think these numbers align with the tape, so if you had him RB1 before today, I'm not sure how this changes anything.

Ah ok, couldn't determine if they were adjusted pro day numbers or combine numbers.

Montgomery and Jacobs are better than Sanders, and RB1 material in the right spot. Trust your eyes. Dalvin Cook had awful measurables at his combine, but that's fine, cuz the tape don't lie.

Why is everyone freaking out about 4.6 speed? I believe a lot of actual scouts weren't expecting crazy breakaway speed from Jacobs. Kamara and Michel both ran 4.56 40s and both weigh around 215 along with Jacobs. According to the main stream media everyone is in love with jacob's skill set and how he checks just about every box you want for a 3 down back. 4.6 speed may result is a lack of huge 20+ yard runs but that won't make or break a successful NFL career.

Of course this pro day is a bit disappointing but if Jacobs goes to a top tier landing spot in the late 1st or even 2nd round I'm still going to consider him with the 1.01. I feel like every year this happens. Everyone panicked on Dalvin Cook's combine numbers yet those clearly didn't matter when it came to on field production. Trust the tape more than the numbers. 4.6 is an acceptable speed, not great but acceptable.

Coming off an injury, he obviously didn't get to train much to run a 40 yard race. I don't think teams that have him on their board will care if he ran 4.5 or 4.6. They are drafting off his tape. I am sure he will run for individual teams during visits.

I still think Jacobs and/or Sanders go round 1.

Does anyone have his 10-yard split?
I would be more curious in that.

Plus, did he do agility drills?
