Ross value?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Ross value?

Postby vixen » Sat Feb 16, 2019 9:34 am

i put some players on trade bait and someone wants Ross...i don't have an official offer yet..but wondering what his value is?

the thing about this league is that we are downsizing our rosters this season and even though i finished last, i am having a difficult time cutting down...i drafted the team thinking that i have time to assess some of these players due to the large rosters...(30 man rosters, 4 taxi and 4 IR)...but now we are going to 30 man rosters and 5 IR (no taxi)

this is a SF, TE premium league...start 1Q, 2R, 2W, 1T 1SF 3Flex bold are likely cuts
Q: Luck, Carr, Rosen, Smith, Sloter (i just really like him and won't cut him right now)
R: Dalvin, Miller, Yeldon, Latavius, TyMont, Wilkins, Prosise
W: ARob, DJMoore, Miller, JoBrown, Boyd, Zay, Ross, Hamilton, Cain, Reynolds, Amendola
T: HH, Hurst, Higbee, Conklin
K: Bailey
D: Baltimore
picks 1.02, 1.08, 1.11, 2.02, 3.02
so i have 29 on my roster and need to get down to 25 (if i want to use all my picks...i have 3 easy drops....my last drop will likely be Conklin

so obviously, i don't want any 2 for 1 trades
his roster ...leaving out Q, K, D
R: Fournette, Kerryon, Chubb, RoJo, Ballage, Jaylen, Crowell, Gio, Warren
W: Cooper, Godwin, Watkins, Pettis, Parker, Crowder,Tyrell, Gordon, Doctson, Conley
T: Engram, Ebron, Herndon
no 2019 picks

so, do you think something like
AMiller, Ross and Hurst for Jaylen and Watkins?
i could throw a pick if you think it is necessary

sorry for the long post, i want to give as much info as i can

****NEW: would you ...
Give Ross and 2019 3.02
Get 2020 2nd (probably mid/late)

Watkins is a higher ranked WR but he is so injury prone. I would target someone else if you are giving up two young guys with high potential. Dj Moore, Calvin Ridley, Will Fuller, Golladay, Kupp, etc..

I personally like A. Miller and Ross better than Watkins. But Watkins does have upside and a high powered offense.

Miller >= Watkins, and Ross > Samuels, but depending on the owner, Ross is worth anywhere from a mid 2nd to nothing, so it all depends. It's worth a shot to send it and see what happens though.

It's now for sure less than it was in his rookie-draft. It's nice to see that he's scoring in the red-zone so often since he also did that at Washington, but the rest of his game needs a ton of work, and Boyd's legitimate breakout on his depth-chart is a spanner thrown into the works. Dalton can barely be relied upon to feed one WR, much less three.

I think he's only worth roughly a 3rd round pick now. He's still young, and he scores TDs, so there's hope for him, but the market has to be objective about his first two seasons. I gave him a mulligan for year one, but he made too many unforced errors in year two, and he's still not alleviating concerns regarding his apparent fragility.

He said A Miller, Ross and Hurst. Miller holds some okay value. But he could revise his package to get one of the guys I mentioned above.

I like Ross and Miller then then Watkins but Herndon is much more appealing then Hurst in my opinion. Watkins just can not stay on the filed. Ross's numbers were not good again last year, but at least the TD total leaves hope and Green is getting older.

I traded Ross for Jonnu Smith. I can't imagine anyone getting a 2nd for him at this point.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...
