What qualifys a WR to be termed a WR1. Is it stats where a season considting of 100+ receptions, 1200+ yards and 8+ TD's qualify? Or total points at the end of the season? If that is the case then in a typical full point PPR League (no yardage or reception bonus) then the minunum point threshold is 270 points (rounded up).. If that is the case the following WR's are the only 2018 WR1's.
Hill (Stud)
Hopkins (stud)
Adams (stud)
Jones (stud, finally the td's came)
Brown (Diva but a stud))
Thomas (stud)
Thielen(Stud???-receptions and yardage dropped after week 8)
Schuster (Move over AB a new stud is in town)
Evans (stud)
Notable missing WR's:
OBJ
K Allen
TY Hilton
Diggs
Cooks
Woods
Lockett
I agree with most on the list but would "IMO" season long consistency needs to be considered as well thus knocking out Thielen. With everyone chasing the ever elusive WR1 what do you think? Who should be added or deleted for 2018 and more importantley what new names will be added to the WR1 list?

Re: What is a WR1?
You have Thielen in there but not OBJ?(Note that I note the question mark) Blasphemy. I don't even like the guy, but come on.
P.S. Adams had his first 1000 yard season this year, how many does OBJ have?
Lockett isn't on the perimeter, nor is Woods.

Re: What is a WR1?
I agree that OBJ is a stud but using "my measureing stick" for 2018 (total points earned) he only received 238 points. He didn't even play in 2017 and what is his outlook in 2019? Some of the "experts" advise if the Giants start a rookie QB his number will be down again because they will rely more on Barkley, plus Barkley catches a ton of passes.
Thus the question begs to be asked what is a WR1? OBJ ranked #16 in points for 2018. Assuming he comes in at #16 again for 2019 will he still be considered a WR1. Obviously his first three years were fantastic...truely WR1 (stud) numbers. 2017 he was hurt, he missed 12 games. 2018 his numbers were down across the board and he missed 4 games. 2019 is full of ?????? Which would mean we are now considering his reputation and/or past performance. Bu,t for how long can we reasonably do that for?
It's the same argument I hear about David Johnson not being a RB1 in 2018 even though he was RB10 overall. But he did the following:
2015-240+points
2016-400+points
2017-did not play
2018-248.60 points.
as with OBJ you can say that DJ played on a team with a rookie QB and no O-line. Is that an excuse or a reason. DJ did though come in at RB#10 at least in 2018.
Bottom line is you decide what qualifys a WR to be a WR1. IMO it doesn't matter if he works outside or in the slot since more and more WR's move around to get that free release. IMO (again) if a true slot WR gets 125 receptions, 1400 yards and 10 TD's year in and year out he is a WR1 for me.

Re: What is a WR1?
I just go by my top 12 in the ranks (add in a few fringe if they are in the same tier). You have my top 10 there if you add OBJ. Plus I think Diggs, Cooks and Keenan belong

Tyreek
OBJ
Adams

Evans
JuJu
Keenan
Julio
Cooks

Thielen

Re: What is a WR1?
He was WR7 in PPG with a PPG number that would be top 3 in most years (WR scoring was way up this year).gman6199 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 11:31 pm I agree that OBJ is a stud but using "my measureing stick" for 2018 (total points earned) he only received 238 points. As for "his numbers were down across the board". What? He had his highest PPG since his 2nd year in the league.
OBJ PPG
2018: 19.31
2017: 18.50
2016: 18.54
OBJ is a good example of a guy where you can pick out FFers that don't really pay attention and those that do. Dude puts up a higher PPG than the last few years that had him as the #1 dynasty WR and people that aren't pay attention think his scoring was down even when he was playing this year.
His 16 game pace was 103-1402-8 while playing with a QB that couldn't throw the ball more than 5 yards downfield.

Re: What is a WR1?
I consider a WR1 to be in the top 12 in PPG that year.
13-24 = WR2
25-36 = WR3
And so forth
I do put OBJ in the WR1 tier. He’s clearly a stud. His “down” year, wasn’t exactly down. Still no QB, still young.
