Difference Between OBJ and Evans

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Difference Between OBJ and Evans

Postby DLF_TylerK » Fri Jan 11, 2019 7:41 am

I have OBJ, but I'm thinking that I could trade down to Evans and maybe get something a good pick or something. What would be reasonable to ask for the difference between OBJ and Evans? A mid-1st? I really would like to get a 2020 1st, so maybe that?

I don't think the gap is even close to a 1st.

call me crazy but I think I might almost rather have Evans at this point with OBJ's injuries and immaturity

Unlike most, I am not as big a fan as most on those two. I rate them very even, each coming with baggage. I would want ODB more than Evans because I think Evans lacks elite receiver skill set and is more a product of opportunity than skills. ODB is explosive, both literally and figuratively, but I think his ceiling is higher.

Even if I was the Evans owner, I doubt I would add anything more than a late 2nd for ODB, but my thought is that they are even in value.

They're pretty close. I'd say Beckham = Evans + 2nd

I'd want at least a mid 1st if I'm moving OBJ, but I guess I'm in the minority. Especially in this draft where a 2nd round pick doesn't seem very appealing.

As an Evans owner I'd refuse to add in order to get OBJ at this stage. There was only a 1.5 ppg difference between the two, and I am much more optimistic of Winston than that of noodle-arm Eli.

Also, if you are the OBJ owner initiating the trade with the Evans owner, what makes you think they're going to add to their side of the deal? They aren't the ones initiating discussion. If the OBJ owner in my league came to me asking for Evans, I certainly wouldn't be adding to my side. I think this aspect is being severely overlooked in this thread atm.

I'd rather Evans so wouldn't expect anything added from the Evans owner.

Probably a 2nd this, but I wouldn’t really want a 2nd in this draft.

I’d probably try a ODB for Evans + a 1st next year
