Hunt value 2019

Postby badbuddah » Fri Dec 07, 2018 2:36 pm

Trade deadline has passed in my league. Thankfully my offer from three weeks ago for Hunt was rejected. Now after the video I know he won't get signed this year, but I have to think he will be playing somewhere next season. At this point, what is fair value? Is he just a second rounder? Late first? More?

I'm in a situation where I was first in the league in points but entered the playoffs as the 7 seed, and Fournette crapping the bed means I will be a first round exit. I feel like my team lacks a true "blowup" guy at RB, and Hunt could fit that bill in the right offense. Should I be pursuing him and offering a late first?

I think Hunt is still worth more than a late 1st but if that's what you have to offer, you may as well. Definitely too early to say you're a 1st round exit after one player played, but I actually think your team looks pretty solid in all areas. You've got like 4 RB1/2 guys. I don't see a need to make any major moves but if you can get good value somewhere go for it.

Depends on how the Hunt owner feels about the situation, obviously ha. I wouldnt Pay more than a late 1st for him. Too much uncertainty surrounding him. He’s gonna miss at least half of the 2019 fantasy season and his list of teams willing to take him is uncertain. The talent is there, no question. But I fear There is more questionable behavior we’re not aware of.

I'd gladly pay a late first. Wouldn't sell him for it though.

So it sounds like it is a crapshoot to his value. I do think there are some promising rookies even at 11th or 12th next year, but highly doubt any would have the upside of a Hunt. I doubt he would take a late first alone anyway. As for my first round exit, I'm barely winning because the guy I am playing has Barkley who always goes bonkers when he plays vs me, and the reason I wanted Hunt was to have a guy who could often score 30+. Barkley and Kamara are untouchable in my league, their owners are the only two teams better than mine. The Hunt owner owns Gurley, and overvalues his players a bit but Gurley might be worth an overpay.

I’ve got an offer of Jordan Howard and Ridley for my Hunt. I’m considering. Just for reference.

I'd be hesitant to accept that too...Not very confident in Howard at all, he's signed through 2019 in Chicago and it's highly unlikely they trade him since he's the perfect combo to pair with Cohen who is too small to handle 20 carries a game. I'm not convinced Ridley is capable of being a #1 for a team. He seems to small and lacks explosive speed to consistently beat #1 corners like Jalen Ramsey. He's a great route runner no doubt but can he handle press coverage from the best when Julio is gone? Idk.

Hunt will play again, worst case he is suspended for all of 2019 but he will definitely be back and will be 24-25 years old and is an absolute STUD.

You aren't going to find a consistent answer here because the truth is nobody knows what is actually going to happen and everyone will value that uncertainty differently. I've seen him sell for criminally low value and seen him sell for barely a discount on this website. I personally would be thrilled to get him for a mid 2019 1st. You most likely aren't going to get an absolute stud like Hunt with a mid 1st. There's a solid chance he sits out all of 2019 but he'll definitely be back in 2020 IMO. Think about this, people like myself had Penny in the 1.02-1.05 range in this stacked RB class, we more or less have had to wait a year for him to develop IF he does. Same thing with guys like Melvin Gordon, Joe Mixon, maybe Rojo. The way I see it is the rookie you draft could just as easily be sitting for 2019 just like Hunt will be.

Sitting in 2019 because a prospect needs some seasoning and sitting in 2019 because you assaulted a woman are 2 entirely different things.

At a position that is as interchangeable as RB; this makes the future for Hunt even worse. If this was a QB, edge rusher, or offensive tackle the NFL would be lining up to sign him when he becomes eligible. When it's a RB, it isn't the same. Mike Vick ran a dog fighting ring and spent time in prison, but got another shot. Greg Hardy's accuser had some pretty awful pictures surface of her ordeal and he still got a job. Hunt's position doesn't help him and he isn't to be confused talent wise with Barkley, Gurley, Zeke, etc. I think its 50/50 he ever plays in the NFL again at best.
