Re: Jaylen Samuels
Well all the TE talk aside {especially since he's a RB only in all the leagues I have him! lol} I look forward to him getting a chance at carving out a larger role and making a case for himself to be the guy moving forward into next season

Re: Jaylen Samuels
This reminds me of the time Joe Webb killed fantasy football.
I tried to grab Samuels in my one redraft league but missed him by one WW spot ( I had 9th priority, the guy who got him had 8th). I was going to start him over Cameron Brate. That other owner has him in his starting lineup over George Kittle. I'm not sure If I would have the cajones to bench the TE4 for Samuels.

Re: Jaylen Samuels
Not a chance I'd bench Kittle for him - there's no guarantee he even takes over as the alpha dog. It could easily be Ridley, with Samuels sprinkled in for passing downs

Re: Jaylen Samuels
I think you guys are a tad too low on J.Conner's skill level. But, to each their own. I for one see Conner as the more talented runner, at least considering what I've seen out of each of them thus far. Conner, for what I've heard, is expected back next week unless there are setbacks. Or, of course if Samuels lights it up.... that could by them time to test the waters with Samuels and see what he brings to the table.

Re: Jaylen Samuels
Even if Ridley plays some snaps and takes the goal-line role, Samuels will get enough carries between the 20s and receptions as the receiving back to be a mid-range RB2 in PPR. Kittle is a top-4 TE every week, but even that doesn't compare to RB2 numbers startable in the TE slot. Gronk is an elite talent at TE, but he has been far from an elite fantasy TE this year. I think it's an easy call to start Samuels over either one at TE.Space Cowboy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:44 pmI'm with you on this. Surprised to see two ppl above me both have Samuels #1. I wouldn't feel comfortable benching a top notch TE for a rookie swiss army knife on a pass heavy team with elite WRs.WhatWouldDitkaDo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:52 pmEven if Ridley plays some snaps and takes the goal-line role, Samuels will get enough carries between the 20s and receptions as the receiving back to be a mid-range RB2 in PPR. Re: Jaylen Samuels
I love Kittle. I said about a month ago he's my #2 in dynasty behind Kelce (I'm a huge Goedert fan so that knocks Ertz' future in my eyes, and Kittle's QB situation will improve).Space Cowboy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 1:01 pmI wouldn't feel comfortable benching a top notch TE for a rookie swiss army knife on a pass heavy team with elite WRs.WhatWouldDitkaDo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:52 pmEven if Ridley plays some snaps and takes the goal-line role, Samuels will get enough carries between the 20s and receptions as the receiving back to be a mid-range RB2 in PPR. That said, you're stating the best of one situation (Kittle is currently top 4) and the worst of another (rookie swiss army knife that may be ignored). Someone could easily do the opposite and say "I'll take the RB that has the tools to be involved in all facets of the game in a highly explosive offense with a QB that has shown over and over again he knows how to utilize such a weapon over a tight end in a low scoring offense with a crappy QB."
I could see it going either way, because that's just the way football is, but I think Samuels gets more opportunities than Kittle.

Re: Jaylen Samuels
Fair enough. I could see an argument for Kittle over Samuels, but Gronk? He's hardly been reliable this year, let alone a must-start. What's your rationale for Samuels over Gronk?Space Cowboy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 1:01 pmI wouldn't feel comfortable benching a top notch TE for a rookie swiss army knife on a pass heavy team with elite WRs.WhatWouldDitkaDo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:52 pmEven if Ridley plays some snaps and takes the goal-line role, Samuels will get enough carries between the 20s and receptions as the receiving back to be a mid-range RB2 in PPR. Re: Jaylen Samuels
Well it's hard to spin that argument when one has been dominant all season long regardless of surroundings and the other has about 6 career touches.Valhalla wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 1:19 pm I love Kittle. Re: Jaylen Samuels
19, but that's not the point. I agree Kittle has been and is a great play. I'm less concerned about what HAS been and more focused on what I project to happen THIS week. Kittle IS a solid play because he has proven to be so, so there's little reason to bet against him. I also think Samuels is finally going to be a good play, because, for the first time, he has a fairly wide open opportunity in an ideal situation. Sometimes guys don't get touches because there's talent in front of them, and not because they are without talent. I think that's the case with Samuels.Space Cowboy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 1:32 pmWell it's hard to spin that argument when one has been dominant all season long regardless of surroundings and the other has about 6 career touches.Valhalla wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 1:19 pm I love Kittle. I think Kittle is a top TE option, but I'd just rather bet on the likely higher touch count I project Samuels to have going against a weak defense. I'd play Kelce and Ertz over Samuels this week at TE. No one else. That's me, though. I was one that was betting on Samuels in the rookie draft, so I liked what I saw him doing on the field.
