That 9 yard run up the middle is one of the best runs overall I've ever seen. Holey cow. I think he elevated himself even more tonight. If there was a redraft for dynasty and I had the 1.01 pick, Barkley might be my choice. That run was amazing.

I woke up, checked the score, then individual stats.

Good god, how does Barkley do it? Terrible team. Beaten early. Barkley still puts up a monster game.

Can't wait til the team around him improves.

He was definitely my 1.05 before the season (behind Gurley, Zeke, OBJ, Nuk in no particular order), but I would have been tempted to take him higher. I was pretty sure he would rise to being my 1.01 in 2019 startups and so far it looks like that will be the case. Gurley is the only player I would consider trading him for straight up right now.

Barkley is great and I love him, but I have to say Eli has no arm left and checks down a lot. This is part of it. Not trying to take away from Saquon, but it's the truth, Eli is done, and Saquon is going to benefit in FF herms because of it. if they get even a decent QB next year, his receiving numbers will take a bit of a hit.

This is accurate. Again no disrespecting what Barkley has done because it’s pretty impressive considering opposing defenses know he’s their only option, but his volume, at least through the air, will decrease if they get someone who can throw accurately more than 5 yards downfield

Just some of the records that could be obtainable:

Most pass receptions, season RB - 102, Matt Forte, Chicago, 2014

Most pass receptions, season—143, Marvin Harrison, Indianapolis, 2002.

Most pass receptions, game—20, Terrell Owens, San Francisco, 2000.

Most yards gained, receptions, season—1,848, Jerry Rice, San Francisco, 1995.

Most yards gained, receptions, game—336, Flipper Anderson, Los Angeles Rams, 1989.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

I get Eli checks down a lot, in fact in that 4th quarter Eli was not going to complete a pass over 5 yards to someone not named Barkely it was painful to watch. However with a better qb and offensive line his rushing totals are going to go way up (hes on pace for a 1000 which is on very low end of his capabilities) and is going to make more big time plays downfield in the passing game. Less volume but more boom, I think he's gonna be bell 2.0

He's great, but he's not breaking 143 receptions or 1,848 receiving yards.

Single game records who knows, probably not but he's good enough to do them.

The 102 receptions is definitely obtainable at this rate and I expect he will break it at some point in his career.

I don’t buy into the “better offense = less for Saquon” thought. Competent offenses know how to use its RB’s strengths. The Saints don’t seem to have a problem throwing downfield and feeding their RBs targets successfully. Seems to me a lot of teams are utilizing scat backs for purposeful short yardage passes to supplement its run game.

If Barkley’s strength is creating in open space, my opinion is the coaches will derive a plan to maximize his touches by getting the ball to him in open space (I.e. short passes). I don’t think you can compare him to anyone. He’s the equivalent of 2 roster spots on most teams (sans Gurley, Kamara, Bell, etc.)

I thought Brandon Marshall had the single game reception record. I looked. I was wrong. Marshall is in 2nd place with 18. Dang, that's a lot of targets.

There are like 7 RBs on pace to break the 102 RB receptions number right now, obviously there is going to be some regression on that front.

Amazing how good saquon looks with this garbage line though. That 50 yard TD looked like it was going to be a solid 6-8 yard run and then bam he was in the end zone.
