Are you suggesting that would be a bad idea? Why not test the waters on a premier asset who just had a terribly mediocre outing?

Lucky,

It's never a bad idea to send out offers. However, if you send out obvious low ball offers after a normally elite / young and exceptionally productive player has an anomaly type game in involvement level and production, it comes across very duchy. So, if ya want other owners in your league to have the impression that you are "that" owner, well, then you could send out crap offers all the time and hope some stick. Lots of owners do this. But, if you send out well thought out mutually beneficial offers, that is an entirely different story.

I needed two points to win. Only Kamara left to play between both teams. He got me two points. I was waiting for the inevitable lost fumble to end me for the last four minutes of the game.

I am still very optimistic Kamara will put up top 7 RB the rest of the way. Kamara has had a sore knee the last couple of weeks. Through the first 4 games Kamara led the league in usage. The guy who can’t handle a heavy workload.

They protected him in last nights game, but he was available if needed. He wasn’t the go to guy in many high leverage situations because the game was in hand early.

Going forward I expect Kamara to get fed a 55% snap share to get his. This is what we expected. Yesterday was about Brees and getting Ingram in heavy.

The original post I quoted made a statement as it related to the thread title. That until Kamara is not splitting time with Ingram, he is not the RB1. The thread title asked a question, and yes, it did not posit that Kamara is the RB1 - as you all have so politely pointed out. But the quoted post answered it. Then JF went off basically asking "Why would you say that? Who asked the question you are answering." And I pointed out, trying to be humorous, that it was the question posed by the thread title.

Sorry for trying to be humorous.

Obviously Ingram will cut into Kamara’s opportunities, but he also lowers the risk of injury & wearing down. Gurley, Zeke and DJ will likely outscore him on average moving forward but in terms of this discussion the production advantage should be discounted by the higher injury risk. Not sure there’s a good way in determining the discount amount, but qualitatively it depends on the rest of your roster. If you need consistent Tob 5 weekly finishes from your RB, then there are better options than Kamara. If you are more interested in long term production, then Kamara is definitely in the RB1 discussion IMO.

Last night was basically the perfect game script to give a guy who has been off 4 weeks some work.

I expect close to a 50/50 split after the bye.

David Johnson + early-to-mid '19 1st (probably 1.04-1.06) for Kamara.

yah, anybody surprised that Ingram got work his 1st game back after Kamara was overworked while he was out... probably not paying attention. The saints would be idiots not to ride Ingram as productive as he was & rest Kamara. Now they have a nice 2 week rest setup for Alvin. And can ride him the back half of their season.

Not worried about Ingram at all. He split carries with Alvin last year + it worked out pretty well for king Kamara didn't it? Alvin's role has grown since then, even with Ingram playing. Probably not reasonable to expect 34+ PPR points he averaged the 1st 4 games sans Ingram though.
