Re: Leonard Fournette Value right now
Had to sell Gurley for Fournette and 3 1st round picks in a 16 team league with 6 keepers (no restrictions/salary cap etc.). Not a great shot at winning the league this year, so I can wait until Fournette's hammy is fine again.
Not sure why people are selling in dynasty, injuries are part of the game and will happen to everyone. Unless he continues to miss a ton of games, he's a hold/buy low for me.

So, he added Marquez Valdez-Scantling ... and now I'm not sure if I'm so dumb that I'm smart or ... whatever, I accepted.

*coughs*
Re: Leonard Fournette, crash coming?
If that was a sneeze I guess we would have said "bless you" or "gesundheit" but since you coughed I will go with "Robitussin".
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..
Re: Leonard Fournette, crash coming?
I was under the impression these forums were for dynasty leagues, not redraft leagues. The short term thinking constantly displayed here is comical.

Re: Leonard Fournette, crash coming?
Does his inability to stay on the field only effect people in redraft?
Re: Leonard Fournette, crash coming?
Brillliant. He has an injury. If the Fournette owner in any league thinks this is a crash, then go acquire him immediately to take advantage of this redraft short-term thinking. Period.hankmurphy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 2:00 pmDoes his inability to stay on the field only effect people in redraft?

Re: Leonard Fournette, crash coming?
He's been injured often the past three seasons. 2 NFL and one CFB. Three years of significant injuries in a row is not re-draft thinking. His running style also makes him prone to additional injuries. Ignoring facts staring you in the face is what's comical.dm1129 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 2:51 pmBrillliant. He has an injury. Haha, if it was as bad as you say, then how can he crash? I did not know a hamstring is a significant injury....0LDMAN wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 11:48 amHe's been injured often the past three seasons. 2 NFL and one CFB. Re: Leonard Fournette, crash coming?
It isn't in terms of the impact on his body. But the injury has major implications on many fantasy teams, which is why this is a relevant discussion.dm1129 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 11:51 amHaha, if it was as bad as you say, then how can he crash? Re: Leonard Fournette, crash coming?
So a hamstring is significant in terms of dynasty? More brilliance.heyfeefellskee wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 12:22 pmIt isn't in terms of the impact on his body. But the injury has major implications on many fantasy teams, which is why this is a relevant discussion.

When you have a player missing 3 (and 2 half) games due to injury in a game where a season is 16 weeks, yes.dm1129 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 12:23 pmSo a hamstring is significant in terms of dynasty? Again, we aren't talking real football here. We are talking fantasy. You need players to score points in fantasy. And in order to those players to score points, you need them to be doing things on the field.
Not being on the field = not scoring points.
When you own a player that shows a pattern over the course of 2+ seasons of being unable to stay on the field due to [minor] injuries, it is 100% significant in terms of dynasty.
Re: Leonard Fournette, crash coming?
Judging by your avatar, you must be using your medical crystal ball to detemine that Fournette has a pattern of medical issues which will continue into the future. Got it.heyfeefellskee wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 12:29 pmWhen you have a player missing 3 (and 2 half) games due to injury in a game where a season is 16 weeks, yes.dm1129 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 12:23 pmSo a hamstring is significant in terms of dynasty? I've got great news for you--no crystal ball is needed! That's right, anyone can look at his NFL career and see how his health has affected his play. Yes--even you!dm1129 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 12:32 pmJudging by your avatar, you must be using your medical crystal ball to detemine that Fournette has a pattern of medical issues which will continue into the future. 2016 (Final year at LSU)
- Ankle (missed 4 games)
- Ankle Sprain--missed 1 game
- Quadricep strain--missed 1 game
- Hamstring sprain--currently on track to miss 3 games; unable to finish 2 games.

Re: Leonard Fournette, crash coming?
I see both sides here. His injury history includes several soft tissue problems and minor sprains. When he isn't able to play or finish games, yes, it affects his dynasty performance and value. However, at the same time, we have to remind ourselves that we aren't talking Achilles injurys or ACL, or even multiple serious concussions - and, just as important - that he is 23. Last year he missed 4 games I think, and accounted for about 1300 total yards and around 10 TDs. So... both sides have points.
Bottom line is, because of his injury history he isn't included in the top tier of dynasty rb's. Until he can overcome the soft tissue issues and minor injuries that he has been going through that cause him to miss time, he'll remain toward the bottom of that 2nd tier or so. I acquired him recently and he will be my 3rd or 4th rb, so for me, on that team, I can afford some patience. If you are depending on him right now as your rb1 on your squad, or have in the recent past while he was injured, I understand the frustration.
