Are you worried about Amari Cooper?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Are you worried about Amari Cooper?

Postby gunfrees » Tue Sep 11, 2018 5:17 pm

After that dud this week, I'm a bit nervous. I don't think it's on him but Carr looked pretty shell shocked out there and if he doesn't get better Cooper could be up for another iffy season.

What are yall thoughts?

I think Cooper is gonna suffer from Derek Carr not being the same after the injuries I think he is playing scared. I think this will affect cooper in a bad way making him boom or bust. The gameplan also was to get the ball out quick and cooper was open but Carr had eyes for Cook yesterday

I just read he's had less than 10 yards receiving in 6 of his last 13 games.

Never owned him, but anyone who does should be beyond worried.

I would unload anyone on the Raiders, get what you can, they are a joke. They may even be worse then Cleveland bad.

Cooper has never really been the WR1 in an offense. Jordy Nelson is a shell of his former self and is probably only cut out for a boom or bust fantasy role. Carr looks pretty rough and I’m not sure he is playing 100%. Gonna be a long year for Raiders.

Just need Cooper to hold out next year and get traded to a better team with a better WR core and better QB. Maybe he follows Mack to the Bears.

Haha. But I wouldn’t expect more than WR3 with upside until that offense starts putting it together. Not sure when that will be, but at least Cooper is still young.

very. i own zero shares and not looking to get any, even on the cheap. seems like a bad investment. if he went to a new home it would spark my interest though.

that said i cant really get on him for week 1. cant do too much with 3 targets even if he caught em all. i cant imagine jared cook is so much better than amari cooper than you need to get him 12 looks and only 3 for cooper. there is blame to spread around on this topic i believe.

Cooper is probably my least favorite fantasy player. Period. Has been for a few years.

Dude cannot catch. Carr looks like garbage. Never been the same since his injury.

I would trade Cooper for anything I could get before it is too late. His value will only continue to decrease with every day that passes. There are some out there who still consider him a WR1. Hope your league has one of those guys and find him.

He is not trending in the right direction going back to last year. It's only week 1 so I would not take a ton away yet. But as an owner, I'm worried for sure and don't really know what to do at this point as far as my lineup goes with him

I think this is beginning to look a lot like the Sammy Watkins situation in LA (which gets me really worried). Amari Cooper has proven that if you get him the ball, he will do great things. You can't make Carr throw to him, just like Goff never threw to Sammy. Cooper showed his talent on that carry that should have went nowhere, but ended up getting 9 yards.

I think Gruden is a bad coach, and Carr looks overwhelmed with his ridiculous playbook. That being said, the game plan was to get the ball out extremely quick and that's not Cooper's game. This could be a little bit because of the defense they were playing.

I'm hoping they try to force-feed him next week to get him going.

Agreed, but I don't think we're quite at that point.

I am worried but not to the point that I would unload him for anything less than a very high 1st. If this continues for 2 more games then I will enter into worried territory.
