Advice on QBs

Postby KAT » Mon Aug 13, 2018 1:11 pm

Currently I have TyGod, R. Tannahil, as starters. With Baker, L. Jackson, J. Rosen, and S. Darnold on my bench/TS.

Would you ride these guys out, or trade a rookie for a vet? My team is probably a top half of the league team.
12 team - Sflex PPR - TEP - Champion 2021-2022
Q(1-2)-Jackson, Dak, Lance, Love, Huntley
RB(2-4)-JT, Mixon, JK, Barkley
WR(3-5)-Chase, Hill, Diggs, Cooks, Hollywood, Aiyuk, Jeudy, T. Johnson, J. Washington, Reagor
TE(1-3)-Waller, Moreau, Tonyan
DL(3-4)- Burns, Davenport, Gregory
LB(3-4)-Kendricks, Okereke, JOK, Shaq, Bolton, Jamin, Gay
DB(3-4)-Dugger, Ryan, Amos, Deablo
2022 picks - none
2023 picks all of my own

Yes easily trade one for a vet like Brady

Might even consider trading two depending on the return you can get

QB: Mahomes/Jones
RB: Mixon/Chubb/Mostert/Burkhead/McKinnon
WR: Wilson/JuJu/Marquise/Mooney/Campbell/Dotson/Osborn/Julio/Tolbert/Shakir/Metchie

i would think about holding until the rookies become starters to see if you can increase in value. Darnold and Allen could start sooner, Rosen and Jackson later.
Too many teams and lineup changes to keep track of them all.

How did you get all the best rookie QBs? I would think you could trade any of them for whatever missing piece you needed. Since you are a contender trade Rosen. I think Lamar's upside is really high so I wouldn't want to trade him away.
QB (1) - A.Rodgers,J.Love,W.Levis,B.Mayfield,Darnold,J.Brisset,Corral
RB (2) - Bijan,Charbonnet,R. Mostert, Zeke, Allgeier,K. Hunt,Hubbard, J.Ford, M. Gaskin
WR (2) - Nuk, M. Evans ,OBJ, T.Thornton, P. Nacua, K Boutte, P. Campbell Zaccheaus,W Fuller, Cobb, T.Patrick
TE (1) - Schultz, Hooper,Kmet,T.Kraft
SFlex (2) - any qb/rb/wr/te

0.25 PPR
12 team league, 37 player rosters + IR, 5 round rookie draft each year.

Sure, sell one of your vets.
At least one of the young ones will serve you this year.
WIth these QBs I might try to work towards a win now window in 2019 (and not now).
Team 1, 0.5 PPR SuperFlex: QB, FlexQB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Flex
QB: Watson, Herbert (Mariota)
RB: Barkley, Jacobs, Dobbins (Akers, K Herbert)
WR: DJ Moore, Woods, Golladay (T Patrick, Shenault, Rondale M, Cephus)
TE: Goedert (Njoku, Bryant, Trautman)
Pick 1.01

I traded Goff for Jackson and Rosen and a 2nd.

And got baker/Duke Johnson plus for Stafford

Only concern I'd have is that you'd need to be realistic to think that all of these guys will pan out.

But what's the definition of pan out? 10 Year Vet or 4 year starter? In a dynasty league, most positions you're lucky to get a few years out of your players so...I dunno. The veterans on your roster may not have jobs for long or may finding themselves bouncing around and I don't know if I want to mentally put up with, "What team will sign Tyrod/Tannehill next year?".

TL;DR it may not be a bad thing to try to move for an established veteran at some point because you may be dealing with a lot of uncertainty: 1. with the vets you have and 2. which of these rookies could be successful.
