He's on IR. He will likely be cut once he is fully healed though.

All part of Belichik's master plan of corn-fusion! It's where you take 2 corn kernels and...

Actually, it does look like JMatt was officially released by the Pats today. I'm thinking there's a good chance he resurfaces back with the Pats. I mean if he's healthy enough for another team to take him, why wouldn't he just stay with them? And if he's not, he may as well wait. Could be wrong, but I think he really wants to learn & re-establish himself in NE, if his health allows him.

"The Patriots have released WR Jordan Matthews from IR with an injury settlement. He’s now a free agent and, when healthy, can seek a new team."

How deep of a league do you need to be in to hold him? I have him in a 10 team 47 man + 5 IR spots with full IDP, so around 300 offensive players rostered.

I just dropped him for Dorsett, in a 12 team 28 man league. There won't be any fantasy relevance for a while.

1. He needs to heal
2. He will need to get in football shape
3. He will need to audition for teams and ultimately get signed
4. He will need to build a rapport with a QB in season most likely
5. He will need to stay healthy

It's a long road for him to have any fantasy relevance and he pretty much needs everything to break the right way for him, which would be a 180-degree change from the path of his career to date. I feel bad for the guy.

Let me preface this by saying that my expectations are low and my primary concern is just JMatt sticking on a roster and having the opportunity to get on the field and show other teams he still can play, period.

That said, JMatt not only has an opportunity to play real snaps in Philly, but it's a great offense and JMatt was Wentz's most highly targeted receiver in his rookie season before JMatt was traded. Wentz and JMatt have familiarity with each other. This is basically as good as it gets for anybody with the slimmest hope for JMatt rehabilitating his career

Don't go out and acquire him, but if you held him and are an OG truther, you can smile today.
