That's hard to believe that landing in NE was the absolute worst landing spot. An offense that features an MVP qb, moves the ball down the field and scores a ton. He should see a ton of work and McDaniels will utilize him to be most effective. Sure he may have some tds vultured or get pulled in favor of burkhead or white at times but he will have plenty of opportunities to score and I believe he will be featured.

His only potential pitfall is fumbling and BB putting him in the doghouse. I don't forsee that happening but that's one concern

Yeah I think going undrafted and unsigned would be the absolute worst landing for Michel. Getting drafted in the 1st by a team that wants a bell-cow back doesnt seem to be the definition of absolute worst that I would use.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

That's the part few people are buying as truth. I mean, it's the Pats.

I won't believe it till I see it.

Does Michel's draft stock move with injury news for upcoming draft?

Postby johnnymozart » Sat Aug 04, 2018 3:57 pm

I have a few premium picks and in this year's draft and Michel was one of my potential targets in the 4 or 5 spot. Does this news change anything significantly if he is say, out for entire preseason?

I have a draft Aug 11th where I expect a WR to go in the top 8 and own picks 4, 5, and 9. My plan has been 3 RB but getting a community consensus on the Michel news... Still good to go in top 5 or does he slide?

Guys hurt going into or during training camp inevitably drop, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot compared to earlier in the summer - Corey Davis did slightly, Mike Williams quite a bit, etc. Michel won't be any different.

Grab him if you believe regardless. I don't, but never did either. And I'm a lifelong Pats fan! (That pick was beyond ridiculous to me. I still can't believe it.)

And you can also play the game and trade down (or up) and hope he falls, getting more value. Doesn't always work, it's risky, but could be fun if you're into the gamble.

If you’re banking on your top rookie running back producing this year for your contender team, he moves to 1.5 or 1.6 if you like RoJo

If not, he stays at whatever 1.2-1.5 you previously had him at

Don’t think Michel ever makes it past 1.6 unless owners are inexperienced
Team 1- 10 team ppr, 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flx, 1D, 1K
2022: 1-8

TE: Hockenson, F Monroe, Juwan, Musgrave

picks-
2024- 1,1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,4,5,5
2025 1,1,1,2,3,4,5

team 2- 12 team SF, .5PPR, .5TE boost, 1QB, 1SF, 2 RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex
2022: 8-1
Finishes: 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd :wall:

I mentioned this in a previous thread, having knee issues in his first camp doesn't bode well for his future. His stock will always be lessened because of the reveal back in April when teams were concerned about the possibility of him having bone-on-bone conditions in his knees. Ask any Ajayi owner and they'll tell you how buying teams use it as leverage.

This, and he's already 23. Ajayi also started missing time with knee soreness, I believe, so the risk is real, long term IMO. Also, if Michel's expectations are now tempered for year 1, what is the extreme upside? Brady and Gronk are going to be gone sooner rather than later, even if they play past this year they will undoubtedly fade in production, and they have zero talent beyond that on offense. A bunch of journeymen like Burkead and Hogan, Britt, Edelman will be 33. The end is coming to that Dynasty soon. It's a sinking ship after this year IMO, and it will start this year.

Habaneros make the best hot sauce. Throwing a bunch of random stuff on top of fries doesn't mean you call it "poutine".

I was wondering the same thing. I wouldn’t take him at 1.06, and I’ve actually played a few years of this thing we call dynasty football. If anything, I would argue that taking him before the 1.05 is a sign of inexperience.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

Expand the topic. Who would you now take ahead of Michel that you maybe wouldnt have before?

A minor procedure does not move the needle for me. Think he is still 1.3 - 1.5 in this draft. This is Dynasty league football not Let's panic because a guy misses 10 days football.

The procedure may have been minor but coming in with a knee issue already and having fluid in the knee after a couple practices isnt minor imo. Add in the fact that hes an old rookie to begin with and its dynasty leagues where id be most concerned.
