I always kind of take those kind of statements to mean, stylistically he reminds me of this player ... not they are that player, but does "some" things similar .. could just come down to a stiff arm, who knows..

Who was the player Parcells blew up with a comparison not long ago that everyone went nuts over ?? I forget. ah, yes ... Khiry Robinson to Curtis Martin

diehard jets fan here....

i think powell isnt on the jets come week 1. i think there is smoke to this fire. i think the jets are ready to move forward with crowell/mcguire/rawls.

Powell is 29 and doesnt fit the long term plans. They were trying to trade him during the draft.

This is a legit spec IMO.

Take is seriously.

With that said, I think Cro is the lead back, and Rawls/McGuire will battle for the rest overall.

Get Rawls. He'll be cheaper and equally valuable.

I actually like McGuire and drafted him/UDFA last year just for shits and giggles. Forte was done and honestly no one special in that backfield. This year it’s only Crowell, who
I see as a younger Forte. McGuire could carve out a nice 3rd down role with upside if Crow gets hurt. I don’t think he’s a spectacular RB but you don’t have to be if you are getting fed the ball.

Might be a flex type or bye week fill in.

He is cheap and god knows if McGuire becomes 1/3 of what LT was, that then sell sell sell.

His value is basically free. I just added him off waivers in my league before this blurb came out. His value is still free. If you really want him he can be a throw in on pretty much any deal. Anybody trying to squeeze you for anything substantial in return is a chump.

Guess that opens the door (maybe) for Rawls to make the roster?

He was on my roster bubble in both leagues, but I had been reading good things about him and was hoping that Powell might get cut.

Is he officially waiver fodder now or is he have enough upside to keep through the injury?

What's with Powell being completely written off? Guy's a solid roleplayer.

Because the team has written him off. Read that they were San Fran's main competition for McKinnon. If the Jets got him, they were gonna cut Powell.

Unless rosters are real deep, I'd throw McGuire back on waivers, once we get an idea how long he'll be out.

Yeah it all depends on roster size, league format & owner mentality.

If you're a contender in a smaller size league - he's best suited for waivers
If you're a contender in a larger size league - maybe you can flip him for a late pick

If he qualifies for your IR or Taxi squad and can stash him to wait and see ...

Update seems to project 3-6 weeks - so maybe not a cut candidate after all depending on your roster size and patience

So 100% of dynasty players will be cutting him then.

That definitely makes a difference I was thinking it was a long term IR situation...he's an end of the roster type guy anyways so that why I was ready to throw him back, being injured was a tie breaker between a guy like him or Gallman for example
