2018 Season Discussion

Postby Multiple Scorgasms » Wed Jul 11, 2018 3:42 pm

I've added a couple of you guys in Whatsapp the past few days, so it occurred to me maybe we could create a group chat for anyone to join and talk about your trade bait, trash talk or maybe just spam Dre when he's wasting the draft clock while hunting crocodiles and so on.

PM your number if you wanna get involved.

Great idea, it means we get to watch all the dodgy trade negotiations!

FYI Delanie Walker was added to my roster, but not given a salary.

The 2 things I'm most looking forward to on opening weekend:

1) Zeke and co lighting it up for my first W of the championship defense

2) Bidding on Rex Burkhead finally ending

This league is too quiet.

Looking forward to week 1, Xulu has quietly built a loaded team, you guys let him have Reek way too cheap. Our game could easily be a championship game with that many studs in the lineups. Shame I don't have Wentz, hopefully Jimmy G is for real after I stashed him for all these years. @MIN isn't exciting week 1, oof.

It looked that way last year too...then the season happened. I didn't make many moves, but Rodgers and Walker could be huge, and a healthy ODB would obviously be huge as well. Unfortunately, I'm also left hoping McCoy doesn't hit the wall at 30, and has at least one more year as a RB1; although, with their QB situation, not sure it matters how much he's got left. Definitely curious to see what Hill can do with Mahomes running the offense.

Hard to say week 1, cause there are always surprises, but definitely looks like I got the better matchup draw for week 1.

Well my team is in rebuilding mode so it's the ultimate 'spare parts' team but I think it could cause a few headaches if Luck comes back to what we expect and Josh Gordon finally realises his potential

If I lose, I hope it's by 7+ because that was clearly a catch. What an abortion of a game on every count. Thank God for RedZone; without that there's no way in hell I'd follow this horrible sport.

Dude that wasn't the worst play of the game that impacted Julio's point total. Matt Ryan missed Julio on what should have been two touchdowns. Ryan was AWFUL Thursday night. The long pass Julio caught early in the game that he took down to the five yard line... if Julio didn't have to slow down and wait for the ball, he scores. Then there was another one later in the game where Ryan underthrew a high rainbow pass to Julio who had his man beat deep. If that throw had been on a line and out in front of Julio, he has an easy TD.

And it wouldn't have mattered...

Two teams scored 120+ and lost, while two others scored in the 80s and won. Unfortunately, that's just part of fantasy football, and I'm sure we've all been on both sides.

Obviously, I don't expect my WRs to put up 120 every week, but nice to see that group finally demonstrate their potential. Glad it wasn't wasted.

Losing Delanie hurts; hopefully, that's not the end for him.

I've always felt unlucky in fantasy, but I seem to be having an unprecedentedly unlucky season. I have scored:

123
139
92
148
116
136

And I'm 3-3. I've lost in weeks where I scored 123 and 136 points. Teams are averaging scoring 125 points against me. The league average is in the mid 90s or so. What in the actual bleep?

I don't know an easy way to look it up but I'm certain that of all the biggest individual fantasy performances of the year, most of them have come against me. Tyreek's 42 and Thomas' 38, Cooper f'ing Kupp's 37, Barkley's 38. Jesus f'ing Christ. :wall:
