Rebuilding team, would you rather picks 28, 29, 30 or pick 18? Volume or quality

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Have an offer of 2.04 (14 team league) for my 2.14, 3.01, 3.02.

I already have picks 1.04, 1.07, 1.08, 1.09, 1.12, in addition to those 3... Would it be wiser to keep the 3 or move up to try to grab a Hines/Pettis/Lamar Jackson type...

Picks in 18: 1.04, 1.07, 1.08, 1.09, 1.12, 2.14, 3.01, 3.02

Do you think you'll be able to grab any of the top 5 QBs with the 2.14? If so I'd stay put..

Probably depends on who you would have to cut. I would lean toward trading up.

Great question.. 20 players on roster now, 10 picks including my 4th and 5th picks.. 18+5 taxi by final cuts. So JRichard, Tannehill, cconley, are easy cuts, likely the 4.14 and 5.14 will be cut... That would mean two people need to be cut... Makes sense then to consolidate I would assume!

The likelihood of 2.04 paying off is greater than all of those other picks combined, dramatic dropoff at 2.05 in rookie drafts.

Seems a little pricy to move up 10 spots. Can you counter with 2.04 for 2.14 and 3.02?

Or some conbination of two of those three picks? Allows you to get your guy and 2.04 and take BPA with final pick

In deep leagues, studs rule the day. The higher you pick, the more likely you are to land a stud.
10 team PPR league, 24 man rosters, 5 man taxi, 5 man IR

QB: Anthony Richardson, Tua Tagovailoa, Sam Howell, Trey Lance, Hendon Hooker (IR)

WR: Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, DJ Moore, Diontae Johnson, Chris Godwin, Terry McLaurin, Kadarius Toney, Jayden Reed, John Metchie, Justyn Ross,
TE: George Kittle, T.J. Hockenson, Chigoziem Okonkwo, Sam LaPorta (TX), Isaiah Likely, Luke Schoonmaker (IR)

Draft Picks

I'd lean to moving up. The odds of one of those later picks panning out is pretty low

Quality over quantity. Consider roster cuts and the talent drop off.
12 Team, 24 man roster, 4 reserve slots, 1.0 ppr, 0.3 points per carry
1-QB, 2-RB, 3-WR, 1-TE, 2-FLEX

QB: T Tagovailoa, J Dobbs
RB: A Kamara, D Swift, J Jacobs, K Hunt, E Elliott, L Murray, C Patterson, J Wilson, K Drake, D Henderson, C Reynolds, N Chubb
WR: T Hill, M Evans, M Thomas, D. Hopkins, A Robinson, J Bobo, N Agholor, M Hardman
TE: M Andrews, D Njoku, C Otton

I think that you're getting good advice for the wrong reasons.

1) This is a shallow league, not a deep one. You start 5 total RBs/WRs max. In SHALLOW leagues, studs rule (in deep leagues, depth is more essential).

2) Look at roster: you have a lot of flyers already. Cutting one flyer for another drafted at pick, say, 29 is only a lateral move. You're looking for incrementally better moves.

3) I think that you're looking at this the wrong way, too. 2.4 isn't likely to make or break your rebuild. What you are only looking to do now is to accumulate assets and/or make incremental improvements. Given the list of flyers on your team, 28, 29, and 30 don't really do much for you in either goal. So, 2.4 is better.

4) BUT, the real question is whether 2.4 is BEST. I'd rather you trade 28, 29, and 30 for a 2nd-round pick (maybe even a late first?) next year. 2.4, for the reasons listed above, doesn't do that much for you either. Future picks, though, are gold: they always retain their value at worst; they increase at best; and they are proven assets for trades.

5) In addition, I'd explore if there is any trade market at all for some of your end-of-the-bench flyers (and M. Jones, Crowell, Lynch, etc.). If you're able to move any of them -- again, even for future later-round picks for the flyers or even future 2nd-round picks for the veterans), then I would keep the three picks that you have. Use them to re-stock your back-end of the roster with flyers. In that case, three would be better than one: you only need one to hit to trade him for a future 2nd...

*Note: The goal is not to be perpetually trading flyers for future picks. But, you do need to do that in order to accumulate assets. That way, when you are ready to transition into winning now, you have two HUGE bonuses: (1) With future picks on hand, you should be able to re-stock; and (2) If you need to make another big move at some point, you already have the future assets to do it instead of having to trade from your win-now roster.

Put all that together, and, as-is, I would trade the three picks for 2.4. But, that would only be if I couldn't do some of the other (IMO) better options.

Normally I'd rather have the 3 picks because by 2.04 the quality inn this class is pretty much gone and you're far more likely to hit on one of the three than just the 2.04. But your rosters are way too shallow and you have way too many draft picks. You're best off following the previous recommendation moving those picks into something next season.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.
