Ingram to the Saints

Postby Kaz » Thu Apr 28, 2011 8:11 pm

Saints trade up to take Ingram. Thoughts on his value? I think it hurts, and that he might actually fall down to the 1.4-1.5 in rookie drafts if Williams or Leshoure end up in better spots.

Wes Bunting recently tweeted that Ingram has 1,300 + yard and 10 + TD potential on the Saints and is a leading OROY candidate. There is zero chance he drops to 1.04 or 1.05 in any dynasty draft.

I expect Ingram to go 1.01 now in the vast majority of dynasty leagues. NO was an ideal landing spot.

The saints paid a 2011 2nd & 2012 1st to move up and grab him. He will be lead back. 1.1 for sure as long as your alright with limited production with there crowed backfield. He will be the lead back in a high power offense.

I tend to agree that Ingram should go at or near the top.

I think it was a bad landing spot for Ingram. That really is a crowded backfield. PT, Bush, Ivory and now Ingram?? Let me be the first to say... I don't think he will be fantasy relevant this season. Too many RB's and not enough balls to go around on a "Passing Team"!

I do agree that he will/should go in the top 1-3 in the draft and probably 1-2.

Bush himself doubts he'll be back in NO as he recently stated on his Twitter account.

PT and Ivory aren't near Ingram's talent level.

ivory is gone, bush might stay on as 9rd down back but only if he takes a massive pay cut, ingram is the goaline, 1st and 2nd down back, he will get his rec and yrd, he is on a very strong off team, and thomas will be phased out by mid-year, i am taking ingram 1.1

I would totally disagree w/ Bunting if he's projecting those numbers for his actual rookie season. I don't think the ceiling is that high on that offense w/ other competition for carries/receptions. I'd put the ceiling (barring injury to PT, which isn't a sure thing) at about 900 yds & 7 TD's, which is still pretty damn good for a rookie.

I think you could definitely see him slip a pick or two depending on need of the team, but probably not past 1.04 in a typical league.

I agree, no way the top-3 picks in 99% of dynasty drafts don't go some combo of Green/Jones/Ingram, with Ingram/Green almost certainly being the top-2.
