Top 8 Rookie RB's - Which ones are on your "DO NOT DRAFT" list?
Re: Top 8 Rookie RB's - Which ones are on your "DO NOT DRAFT" list?
I would not say that I would not draft them at all - but I have no interest in Guice or Chubb at their going rate. My gut just does not trust them. They would need to slide before I consider them.
Re: Top 8 Rookie RB's - Which ones are on your "DO NOT DRAFT" list?
With the 1.01 pick i can draft any rb but of course i will go with saquon so i would say there is no rb on my do not draft list

Re: Top 8 Rookie RB's - Which ones are on your "DO NOT DRAFT" list?
Rojo because he's 200 pounds and runs like he's 230. It's a recipe for constant injuries. I might take him with the 1.12.
Johnson has had injury problems in the past and I think they will continue. I'd take him as a top 8 RB but would look to deal him if I got stuck with him.
Penny because that line is bad. It's dynasty but short term, I think his value will take a hit and I could try to acquire him this time next year for cheaper. I'd take him top 8 but would field offers if he were still on the board at my pick.

Somewhat disappointed but not surprised by the responses in the thread. Picking at 1.08 (and possibly, but not likely at 1.12) I'll be staring down one of these RB's. There will be two at the pick if I'm very lucky. However I expect that RB to be one of Jones, Johnson, and Freeman and they seem to be the ones most are looking to avoid.
Can't say I'm overly thrilled with any back in that trio, but I suppose I'd lean Freeman or Johnson in non-ppr.

Fair point. I value Mixon more in Barkley's tier if he were in this draft class. It may be that perception that is keeping his value up.Shoreline Steamers wrote: ↑Mon May 07, 2018 9:39 amDid Mixon's value take a hit? I don't think Penny is being touted as nearly the talent that Mixon was (and is) touted as. If Penny gets mauled behind a terrible o-line, people won't be looking for nearly as many reasons to make excuses. I say this as someone who remains very high on Mixon.Shoreline Steamers wrote: ↑Mon May 07, 2018 9:39 amDid Mixon's value take a hit? I don't have a do not draft player per se, but based on my picks in all my leagues (1,2,4,4,5,12) unless Rojo, Johnson or Michel fall to 12, I do not foresee me getting one of them. Definitely not at 1 or 2, and I will most likely take Guice, Chubb, Penny or maybe a WR.

Re: Top 8 Rookie RB's - Which ones are on your "DO NOT DRAFT" list?
I'd draft any of these RBs at the right point of a rookie draft, all in the first round. So none of them are on my do not draft list.
I seem slightly more cautious than post-draft consensus on Penny, Michel, and perhaps Freeman. FWIW

Re: Top 8 Rookie RB's - Which ones are on your "DO NOT DRAFT" list?
I’m like some others, I won’t say that any of them are on my do not draft list but I don’t expect to have many shares of Guice, as I feel there’s some definite off the field stuff, there’s got to be a reason he dropped during the draft. Probably Michel too, I just can’t trust Belichek because he’s so specific with his game planning but I admit that if he’s used in the right manner, Michel could put up big numbers, I’m just not sure how they will use him.
Re: Top 8 Rookie RB's - Which ones are on your "DO NOT DRAFT" list?
I think the tough part is a lot of the backs have gone to good locations where volume won’t be of concern. That in turn drives up perceived value. But the other end of the decision is which one of these backs come out on the other end as a staying power and a worthwhile dynasty investment. At this point, we are all guessing on which lottery ticket is the winning one. Lol.
The discussions I have had with others where they pointed out the roller coaster that is rookie drafting versus trading out for proven players is really starting to ring true. I was really gung-ho on drafting all of the next great rookie rb but it really does seem to be a flip of the coin and hope for the best.
I say all of this from the perspective of sitting in the 1.06 spot.

Re: Top 8 Rookie RB's - Which ones are on your "DO NOT DRAFT" list?
I agree that this wasn't the case prior to the draft. But post-draft, he's moving up on many people's boards. Last year it was Fournette, then a bit of a a muddle between McCaffrey, Mixon, and Cook depending on personal preference. Hind sight says that maybe the fantasy community should have been higher on Hunt/Kamara, but they were seen as 2nd-tier backs by most. Perhaps Penny surprises as well?Blueboy wrote: ↑Mon May 07, 2018 6:11 pmI don't think Penny is being touted as nearly the talent that Mixon was (and is) touted as. And I've no idea if Seattle's o-line will improve in 2018. But I do know that moving on from Cable in favor of Solari will bring a new scheme that hopefully suits the personnel better. Draft capital alone seems be fueling his rise, warranted or not.

I'm not touching Kerryon Johnson anywhere in the 1st, he looks like a total turd to me. A turd that can run hard perhaps, but a turd nonetheless. They also have Blount for goal-line if they so choose and Abdullah/Riddick for passing down work.
Re: Top 8 Rookie RB's - Which ones are on your "DO NOT DRAFT" list?
Michel for me. Let someone else have the usual Pats RB guessing game. Banking on him becoming a workhorse is madness.
Then again, who the hell knows... it's the Pats! Making him one of their 1st round picks still blows my mind to pieces.
