He is a young, athletic back who relies on volume. His team/coach has said they want to form a committee. What you do with that information is up to you.

If you like numbers, https://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/melvin-gordon/
breakaway run rate 28th
catch rate 36th
drops 2nd
fantasy points per opp 62nd
YPC vs base front 50th (55% of carries)

I think he is a hold/sell for a good offer but just be ready for a value dip if they add semi-legit competition

This thread is still going?
This is literally the exact same discussion as the beginning...

I came here expecting to see something relevant, only to be disappointed.

A Hopkins-Gordon-1.08 for 1.01-Amari Cooper-OJ Howard went down.

Curious to look back on that one in a year

It feels like some people think the Chargers coaches don't watch game film. Instead, they just all huddle around a laptop like those clowns in "Draft Day", looking at Melvin Gordon's career stats tab on NFL.com - "Well golly, Burt. You realize Melvin hasn't been averaging 4 yards each time he runs? Shoot darn, let's replace him!"

That's right! For some reason, when players perform well below average, the coaches look to replace that player! That's why the chargers coaches were at Ronald Jones' pro day

They gotta use him less, upgrade their OL, and pickup another RB to complement him and Ekeler.
Maybe have Rivers spread the ball around a little more too. That might open things up for Gordon.

Ronald Jones also had a formal interview with the Rams (he did not have one with the Chargers) - better sell Gurley before the Rams replace him too. Cardinals too, watch out DJ.

While glossing over the fact that 14 other NFL teams were there as well. Plus the pro day was right in the Chargers backyard so of course they'd be there.

Yeah Man. More than a couple country miles.
Dunno about country miles unless you live in Andorra and those miles are pretty short.

Nuk is easily the best piece in the deal but I would never trade Cooper straight up for Gordon unless maybe nonPPR so that means the next 2 and possibly 3 best pieces are on the other side depending how you feel about OJHoward & 1.08

If Barkley is actually a 1st round startup pick this is not really that far off imo...but then again I find it very difficult to move Cooper down from player #5 overall (last year) to somewhere in the 3rd round. I think he was somewhat overranked at #5 but definitely undervalued now.

Anyway if fantasy is about winning Nuk/Gordon is a solid RB/WR combo but so is Barkley/Cooper and with 1.01/Barkley, if you must have him, it will take an overpay so that is what this guy did. He didn't get killed in the deal he got what he wanted and bled a little value to make it happen
DLF HOF League 16 team PPR

Only two weeks in - his YPC has been "about the same" and time will tell if that improves; but you have to love his involvement in the receiving game if you own him. Plus he's just scoring TDs all the time now.
