Good thing he'll frequently be lining up in the slot with the Saints then!

NO is no longer the pass-happy shoot-out offense it once was though. I'd still sell Meredith for any 2nd.

Agreed and in fact i made a similar statement a page or two ago. But it is still an improvement in situation over the Bears. i get they are acquiring the right pieces, but I still need to see them put it together before I believe it. I certainly wouldn't sell for any 2nd in my league as that could be as late as pick 32... Even if you aren't a fan, he is worth more than pick ~18 in any rookie draft currently.

Not sold 1 year makes it a trend. The team's performance was based on three rookies- Kamara, Lattimore and Williams. A year's worth of film could expose weakness with those now-2nd year DBs and force the offense away from the run, assuming they try to maintain it this year.

Franky Four Fingers wrote: Thu Apr 12, 2018 9:50 am As a Bears fan who watched him play in his supposed breakout season I was never overly impressed. Chicago was getting housed in those games and Meredith was eating up soft underneath coverage. People seem to forget that he did most of his damage out of the slot in his big year. The Gabriel signing was the nail in the coffin for Meredith imo. When they run a 3 wide set Gabriel will kick into the slot or possibly even Burton. Meredith is still a decent player but the Gabriel and Burton signings simply crowded him out. Barring a trade down in the early rounds I also don't see Chicago taking a wr before the 4th round. Perhaps a cheap vet who knows the system like Maclin is brought in but I'd bet the Bears have already acquired all the high profile pass catchers they will for this year.
Uh what?

What do you think Meredith will be doing in New Orleans?
Answer: Eating soft coverage underneath.

Where will he be lining up in New Orleans?
Answer: The slot.

Hes going to be tethered with a high powered offense. Oh and hes 6'3" tall playing in the slot. Good luck trying to stop that with a corner who covers slot receivers.

Not to mention all of his other metrics are very good. The questions that surround him are simple.

1: Whats the condition of his knee?

2: Is the significantly reduced pass attempts in NO last season cause for concern this season?

Even now that it's official.. I just can't seem to get excited about Meredith. When I start thinking of terms of price, I can't imagine giving much of anything for him (to include a roster spot).

TE: M. Andrews, G. Everett, D. Knox, D. Schultz, D. Waller
TAXI:T. Chandler, E. Dotson, J. McLaughlin, D. Ridder

Team Two:
0-2QB, 8-10 FLEX 12 Team
QB: J. Fields, W. Levis, M. Stafford, T. Taylor

Is Cam Meredith already droppable for a hot WW/free agent pickup?

I guess the question is whether you (and the Saints) believe he plays himself into being a factor by mid-season or not.

I know I'm struggling with whether to keep him or not, even in dynasty. They did throw decent money at him, but the future is awfully muddy after Michael Over 9000 Catches Thomas.

Well the good news for Meredith believers (I am not one of them) is that the Saints can cut bait after this year since his dead cap will drop to under 3m, while his cap hit would be almost 7m.
