RoJo
RoJo
What are your opinions on him? I was disappointed to see him get injured at the combine and not have a true 40 time laid down. I was even more disappointed that he still didn't get it in at USC's pro day. I actually really like him a lot and am targeting him at 1.05 in one of my leagues where I desperately need RB help in. Anybody else feel that strongly about him, or have any insight that could talk me out of taking him at 1.05?

I would definitely take Michel or Penny before him at 1.5.

Hes Reggie Bush. Id take Barkley Guice Michell Chubb Penny Sutton Moore over him easily and probably Ridley and Freeman. I cant see him as a 3 down back. Kind of a home run hitter type of guy, all or nothing

Re: RoJo
If Gil Brandt was right about his pro day numbers, I want no part of him. Sub par athlete. Maybe he's Dalvin Cook in this regard, but I'll pass.

Re: RoJo
The only thing he has in common with Bush is the uniform he wore in college. He's not as fast as Bush. His lateral agility is nowhere near Bush's. His game is predicated more on power than lateral agility. He's not a particularly good pass catcher.pierson242 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 07, 2018 4:10 am Hes Reggie Bush. These things are all the opposite of Bush. It's a lazy comparison because they both went to the same school and are somewhat undersized.
That's not necessarily a good thing or a bad thing, but he's a very different player than Bush and he'll have a lot harder time carving out a receiving role that makes him still valuable in fantasy than Bush did.

I'll pulled Gil Brandt's tweet up that you mention, his 40 contradicts what USC posted (4.48) and RoJo claims his hammy is still only 85%. Haven't seen numbers to compare against for agility drills. I don't know he might just be "the guy" I love on tape this year, but I do think he could be like Dalvin Cook in that regard. His tape is fast. So was Dalvin's, drills were not. We'll see but I still like him at 1.05 behind Barkley, Guice, Michel, and Chubb.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sat Apr 07, 2018 8:19 pm If Gil Brandt was right about his pro day numbers, I want no part of him. Edit: Forgot to write that he also weighed in at 208 which I was impressed with. He's bigger than he looks and I assume he could add a few more pounds this summer.

Re: RoJo
A lot of evidence suggests he played at 200, or sub 200, and bulked up for the pre draft process (in which he couldn't stay healthy)Bucky15 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 8:09 pmI'll pulled Gil Brandt's tweet up that you mention, his 40 contradicts what USC posted (4.48) and RoJo claims his hammy is still only 85%. Re: RoJo
I think the Cook comp is fair. He looks fast on tape, no doubt. However Cook was closer to 210 I believe, and if Rojo plays at 200, then being a lead back would be an outlier situation. Jamaal Charles did it, but the examples are few and far between. I'm really torn on Rojo, and where to have him on my board.Bucky15 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 11:34 pmThat's definitely a fair point.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 8:26 pmA lot of evidence suggests he played at 200, or sub 200, and bulked up for the pre draft process (in which he couldn't stay healthy)Bucky15 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 8:09 pm

Re: RoJo
I hear you man. Honestly, I've got the same type of crush on him as I did with Kamara last year pre-draft. Admittedly, Kamara grossly outperformed my expectations for him but I loved him and thought he would be effective. Not trying to call RoJo, Kamara, just saying he's the guy in the mid-range of the 1st I've fell for this year.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 11:37 pmI think the Cook comp is fair. Doing a little more research on him and I think I'm removing him from my board. (I will not take him at 1.09 and I don't have a 2nd round pick.) I was not impressed with a lot of game film. Then I looked at him struggling with receiving and I realized how good will a ~200lb RB be when he doesn't seem to offer much on 3rd down!?FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 11:37 pmI think the Cook comp is fair. Reggie Bush eventually settled into a lead role later in his career as well. CJ2k. McFadden for a spell.
It's not ideal, but it's not unheard of.
