Tagging Robinson would've cost $16.2 million.

Man, some days it seems it'd be so easy to be an NFL GM. Get drunk, make some moves, make some cuts, and no one would ever know the difference. They'd still probably fire the coach first once the ship started sinking

I think you've got the wrong Florida team. It's the Buc's that keep shooting off the cannon while missing their mark. The pirate ship keeps taking on water from self-inflicted damage. Going to have to "Eat an L " more often than not with self appointed Captain Crab Leg Snatcher @the helm.

Can't wait to see this year's episode of " Welcome Back Koeter " Yo, Ho,Ho & a bottle of dumb (pills) to pass around for everybody. There's adderal for the departed Muscle Hamster, guns for fun in DeSean's ganja infused joy ride, testosterone boost for Big Mike who is the team enforcer all of a sudden and it must be an extra special kinda stupid pill that inspired Not So Famous Jameis legendary pep talk.

Compared to that clown car show picking up Moncrief instead of franchising A. Rob and not retaining Hurns looks like an Einstein moment. Father Coughlin will be ready for your confession speech when the Jags go to the championship game again. Largely in part for the $12 mil or so in savings by bringing in 'Crief and a rookie contract while continuing the exodus send off of former circle of overpaid Jags off. Say Goodbye to the old and Hello to the new

The Jags are run just fine. Even Gus Bradley's tenure has to be considered partly a success in hindsight, as he was the one who crafted their defense. The point with Moncrief is only that they paid more than they should have, even if it's only a one year deal. Could they not have tried to retain Aaron Colvin with those millions instead? They need another linebacker to replace Posluszny, too. These areas to me seem like they'd have been a better use of the money.

Donte Moncrief.

Postby ninotoreS » Sat Apr 27, 2019 1:17 pm

With Pittsburgh going for an apparent slot receiver in the 3rd round, do we actually entertain the hope Moncrief is set for a 6th year breakout?

- I don't think Diontae Johnson is bad at all (actually one of my sleepers in this class), but he seems like a strange choice for a team that needs more help on the outside than inside. I can't envision Johnson taking the slot from JuJu in 3-wide sets. JuJu's too good there.

- James Washington flashed last year with a few impressive catches deep (as he'll do), but he graded very poorly doing practically everything else.

- Ben threw a whopping 675 times last year. Between Moncrief, the slot rookie, and Washington, it seems safe to predict someone's gonna break out with WR3 fantasy numbers, with upside for WR2 numbers. Despite Moncrief disappointing us for years, is he not the most rational candidate at this point in time?

Moncrief, at least imo, quietly had a solid NFL year (not fantasy) in a pretty awful situation last year. Nothing is set in stone but Moncrief is not even 26 yet, and so long as he can build a rapport with Big Ben, and prove he is trustyworthy of a role, I think WR2-3 is a possibility for sure.

I’d take Moncrief above all other pass catchers from Pittsburgh in a 2019 redraft league. JuJu aside, of course.

He is extremely slot-only. Virtually no chance to start in 2-wide, and little chance to bump JuJu out of the slot in 3-wide, considering he already lost that job to JuJu when the latter was a rookie. I think Eli at best can be the chart's #4 option.

I am starting to feel similar optimism for Moncrief. He fits that role really well. I am thinking he will be a nice depth/bye week starter.
