This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Zay Jones Debate Plus

Postby esloan35 » Sun Mar 18, 2018 6:54 pm

Traded Zay for 3.2 and got some grief. 26th player in this draft over a guy with bad handles seems good to me. Then I was told Marvin Jones is worth 4.4 and Jeremy Hill is worth at least as much. Frustrated owner I guess. Am I missing something?

I probably wouldn't have let Zay go so soon... and if I did, I'd want a mid-2nd.

Fair enough, but whoever pays a mid 2nd for a Bills WR who was ranked 95th last year is reaching imo. I would rather reach with the 3rd in this draft. I would of gladly sent him to you for 2.5.

WRs aren’t like Rbs where you get instant results. You have to give WRs 2-3 years to show their potential. Zay jones is in a situation where he’s going to continue to get playing time. You shouldn’t give up a player in a situation like that to go draft another player hoping he gets put into a similar situation.

It’s way to soon to give up on him. I actually think he’s going to be a solid wr.

I would have held Zay. Everyone is quick to forget that he had a nice breakout game mid season vs the Jets and it would have been even better had he not been tackled in a dirty way which caused a pretty significant injury. He also played with a torn labrum the entire season. His father even said Zay had a hard time holding a cup of water he was in so much pain. He also had the highest percentage of uncatchable passes thrown his way.

I would have held Zay to. 3rd round picks are crap shoots.
In too many leagues to list players. Check out my Dynasty Deep Dive!

Dumb trade. This is the same type of trade that ends up haunting a dynasty owner. How many people gave up on a player like Nelson Agholor? He was probably traded for a low pick or even released in many leagues. Need a little patience. Much rather hold a young player a little too long and having him not pan out over trading him for junk & watching him flourish a year or two later.

Biased Zay owner - but I would have kept him. He had a rough 1st season, but that offense with Tyrod was a mess. Hopefully they get a young QB who opens the playbook up a little. Zay has a long ways to go but I still believe in him. I don't think it is wise, in dynasty, to ditch every player who dissapoints in their rookie season

Agree with others, should've held over a 3rd. I'd need a mid 2nd.

Sounds like by the board I sold short on Zay, but the Hill/Marvin Jones miffs me.

I probably would have taken the 3.02 as well. I don't think Zay will ever really be much of a fantasy producer.

zay's as much as a crapshoot as an early 3rd. six in one hand, half dozen in another. i say it's not a bad trade at all.
