Re: Derrick Henry
Honestly this doesn't change his value for me much, anyone who didn't think they were going to add to that backfield either in the draft or FA was fooling themselves.

As a Lewis owner I'm not upset. I think he landed in a better situation for FF than staying in NE. Could have been better, but it's not a downgrade imo.Life of Pablo wrote: ↑Tue Mar 13, 2018 6:36 pm Titans fans rejoice. Henry owners and Dion owners on suicide watch.

So what do we expect from Lewis in terms of fantasy? I'm confused as I thought Henry was the future in Tenn, but you don't pay an RB top 10 money to sparingly use him, do you?FoleysFolly wrote: ↑Tue Mar 13, 2018 6:40 pmAs a Lewis owner I'm not upset. Re: Derrick Henry
Nope, you don't. This is rough news for Henry owners. Lewis will take away a lot from Henry's overall fantasy value. Not all of it by any means. Henry could still put up some numbers, but not nearly as much as he was poised to. He's out of top 10 RB value consideration now in my opinion. Closer to a mid RB2.Dr.Graffin wrote: ↑Tue Mar 13, 2018 6:47 pmSo what do we expect from Lewis in terms of fantasy? Re: Derrick Henry
The obvious expectation would be Henry slots in as early down back and Lewis as the COP. Hope that's not how it plays out though, as a Dion owner. Something's always felt off about Henry to me though. Great talent for sure, but why isn't his own team convinced he's an alpha dog RB1 capable of carrying the load? Then again, maybe they do and are just being smart & splitting the work while they both stay healthy.
Re: Derrick Henry
Yea it's not a TE premium, I am not sure why but something felt off about labeling Derrick Henry the next stud workhorse. I had my doubts before the Murray cut, guess the Titans don't believe he is either.

Re: Derrick Henry
It's a very fluid situation. We might not even know how the Titans plan to use them both until training camp. And we also have to wait to see how they both compare to other RB values after free agency and the draft shakes out.Dr.Graffin wrote: ↑Tue Mar 13, 2018 6:47 pmSo what do we expect from Lewis in terms of fantasy? Re: Derrick Henry
I think Henry is fine. He was already being overdrafted so this will correct it. He will still get majority carries and get all goal line work. It was pretty expected that the Titans would add a RB after cutting DeMarco. Also, Lewis's career is riddled with injuries so getting significant touches for a long period of time seems unrealistic and unsustainable. Anyone who thought Henry was going to be a 3 down back and get all the receiving work was a fool to begin with.
Re: Derrick Henry
I don't mind the Dion Lewis signing. I feel Henry can outplay him. Tennessee was always going to bring in another RB and this is better than a 2nd round rookie
What I don't like is the amount they paid him, and I'm afraid they're going to be as dumb as last year with still giving Henry the backup RB duties, despite both looking and stat wise being better than the starter
I sold Corey Davis for Henry figuring Ten would bring in a 3rd down pass catching back, like a McKinnon or Duke, not someone to give him competition for touches everywhere. Lewis and Henry aren't the complementing back types, they're more opposing

Re: Derrick Henry
Anyone expecting a 3 down role wasn't dealing with reality... However, Lewis is a more talented runner than I anticipated them bringing on. He will steal more carries than I expected and if memory serves he is surprisingly effective in the red zone...chopping mall wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 11:48 am if people are valuing Henry as a 3 down RB, then sell now. The Titans will bring in a pass catching RB and then apparently he's going to lose value. But he's not going to be the pass catcher, so if you can get a 3 down RB price out of him, do it.

Re: Derrick Henry
I know that no one really knows except for the Titans, how they will use Henry but I’ve read a couple of the “experts” that believe that Lewis was signed to be the main RB. Personally, I have 2 shares of Henry and only 1 of Lewis but this definitely doesn’t make me feel better about Henry, I knew he wouldn’t get much 3rd down work but he’s probably going to lose more than that.
Re: Derrick Henry
I think Lewis is the lead back and Henry ends up the goal line, short yardage guy. I own 1 share of Henry and none of Lewis, so I'm fairly unbiased.
