Dilemma

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Dilemma

Postby jman3134 » Mon Mar 12, 2018 9:07 pm

So my league is way more bullish on rookie picks than the consensus here. I have two offers on the table and have been trying to weigh them.

Offer 1:

Trade: pick 10 (1st round)
Receive: Devonta Freeman

Offer 2:

Trade: pick 10 (1st round) and pick 15 (2nd round)
Receive: Allen Robinson

My dilemma is that these are two outstanding offers. However, from a roster construction standpoint, I may not have a starting RB with my current roster with the exception of Barkley. So that would normally lead me to Freeman. However, there is some concussion history concern and I feel Arob might be a faster riser considering the possibilities of him signing in San Fran or Green Bay. If I go with my gut and trade for Arob, I run the risk that I have no rb2 next year.

What would you do and why?

Both offers seem like very good bargains to me. Where do you stand in your league? I agree your team would be better off next year with Freeman, but as far as future asset value that definitely would go to the ARob side. What are you trying to get out of it? That is the question you need to answer.

Either one of these trades is a steal, as you noted. The NFL season is so random, and the offseason is long, you will have plenty of time to solve your RB dilemma, and who knows, it may resolve itself. I would personally take the Arob trade here, as I think that's the bigger steal. Trust your gut!

Piling on that both offers would be huge steals. I think Arob is worth slightly more than Freeman, but you'd also have to pay a little more to get him. For your team, I think Freeman makes a little more sense, but I wouldn't blame you for going either way.

Those are both super cheap. I'd take the Freeman deal Or the Arob deal. I don't care just take one of them now.

I still have questions about the Bears as a landing spot, but I rolled the dice and went with the Arob trade. Thought about it and if my leaguemates are smart (each rookie draft they seem to be getting better), all of the top tier rbs would be off the board by 10. Most of them are experiencing serious rookie fever and won't part with their picks, probably hoping to get another Hunt.

Barkley, Guice, Chubb, Sutton, Michel, Rojo, Penny I imagine will be the starting order. A lot can change with landing spots, but I suspect Kerryon Johnson will slip through the cracks and I think I wouldn't have to reach at 10. Other guy on my radar is Chase Edmonds who I think I can get with a later pick as well.

So you could use it to flip? I have been trying to secure late firsts, but most of the owners won't budge simply because it is a first. They way overrated late 1sts and underrated early 2nds.

I'd find a way to get Freeman too. Loved that price point. His owner is almost giving him away.

Yeah, I liked getting Freeman a little more than AROB deal. But yeah if you have any other draft picks besides pick 15 package them for players.

Yes I came here to announce I rolled the dice on the deal. Way too good to pass up landing spot be damned.

You're absolutely right. Let's see if I can pawn a crudsandwich into something more. Our draft is in preseason, so I was going to wait and hope Meredith puts out some good tape before then. Or somehow package my seconds for a first and then leave the draft altogether? Maybe Jordan Matthews lands in SF? Super excited for my team next year.

I'd offer Kupp straight up and see what more you may need to add.
