Re: Allen Robinson 2018 Outlook
There’s a reason Nuk and AB averse an insane number of targets... it’s because they are really really good and their qbs like throwing to them because they literally catch everything and are always open. He isn’t a top tier WR because of the targets, he gets the targets because he is a tippy top tier WR.Johnny Canuck wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2018 1:18 pmIt's more about the opportunity he'll have in Jacksonville. In your example, Arob thrived in 50% of his seasons with Bortles, but that was receiving 150 targets in both seasons. Unfortunately, due to the defensive/running style of the team and new receiving weapons, it seems highly unlikely he surpasses 120 targets, let alone get to 150, or even reach the numbers the Nuk got to elevate him to a top-tier fantasy WR status. For reference, Nuk has averaged 172 targets over the last three years.
Situation (Bortles/team play style) and opportunity (potential for targets) seem to be the biggest obstacle in Arobs path to reestablishing himself as a top WR. Neither of which appear to forecast as favourable in the immediate future.

151 Targets| 80 Receptions| 1400 Yards| 14 TDs
Arguably top 10 Dynasty player arguably many critics claiming game script
Nuk 2017 with Watson
174 Targets| 96 Receptions| 1378 Yards| 13 TDs
Arguably #1 overall
Nuk has done it multiple times but also has gotten WAY more targets over his career
Allen Robinson's career so far
42 Games| 383 Targets| 202 Rec| 2831 Yards| 22 TDs
53% catch rate
7.4 Yards per Target
14 Yards per Reception
.52 TDs per game
Scored a TD on 5.7% of targets
Scored at TD on 10.9% of Receptions
Nuk's career so far
79 Games| 735 Targets| 413 Rec| 5865 Yards| 36 TDs
56% catch rate
7.98 Yards per Target
14.2 Yards per Reception
.45 TDs per game
Scored a TD on 4.9% of targets
Scored on 8.7% of targets
Very similar players from an efficiency point of view. They win in different ways and on different parts of the field, that is why Arob has better TD ratios, and Nuk has yardage and catch ratios. I dont see why Arob cant garner a lions share of targets similar to what Nuk has over the past 3 years.
Expect big things from Arob
Re: Allen Robinson 2018 Outlook
hmm, garbage time points count, like any other time points. Point is, he can produce. That Jax DEF is going to get Arob on the field more...BB sucks and more garbage time maybe in his future...lol.
Re: Allen Robinson 2018 Outlook
You have to think that Fournette will take away a lot of defensive focus and that should yield better looks for BB, ARob and the rest of the receiving corps.
Re: Allen Robinson 2018 Outlook
Jag has all the leverage in the world against Bortles, and they got him to sign a team friendly deal. Arob is not going to bite... at least I hope not. They will probably (75%) tag him and bring him back with Bortles. If he has a 2015 year, great.. he is back to WR1. If has another 2016 year he won't sign an extension and be on a new team in 2019 with a good QB and back to WR1.

Re: Allen Robinson 2018 Outlook
Personally, I was never a huge fan, thought that one season was a bit of an outlier. But when you look his physical ability, his stats on such a horrible team (at the time) with such a horrible QB (now mediocre), and that the Jags actually can threaten with a RB now, I do like his outlook even if he stays on the jags. Westbrook and Cole will take targets away though, and easier dumpoffs for Bortles.
However, IF he is traded or tagged/traded he could be an WR1/2 and an easy weekly play.
Personally, I preyed on the owners skepticism and sent him Jamison Crowder and 2.10 for him a few weeks ago. Seems like a healthy price to pay for a "risk" at the most.
And for the record, there are plenty of "NFL studs" that have gotten there with padded stats in garbage time. That may actually help a players stock. Just my 2 cents.

That would be amazing for my Trubisky shares lol. I don't really see a scenario where the jags don't tag him unfortunatelyWhatWouldDitkaDo wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 1:03 pm https://www.instagram.com/p/BftUq1JA4CM/

Re: Allen Robinson 2018 Outlook
Surprisingly, a trusted league source told us today to expect the #Jaguars to keep Marqise Lee, NOT ARob
https://twitter.com/RosterWatch/status/ ... 42144?s=19
Arob also just tweeted:
You reap what you sow
Arob might be free of Bortles!! Great news!

Also suggesting that he is interested in CHI if he hits free agency.

Re: Allen Robinson 2018 Outlook
Can't see them not at least tagging him. If they have the cap room, it makes sense. They are a contending team and they didn't have their top dog at WR last year. Tagging him and seeing what he has after his injury only makes sense, as he could help that offense become much better. It makes sense for a team that is close to contending. There is nothing to lose for them to do it. They can let him walk later, if they aren't happy with the production, but there is no doubt he immediately becomes the WR1 on that team when he comes back.

I swear I just read they have $12-14 mil, but over the cap says they have nearly $30 mil.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 1:05 am Can't see them not at least tagging him.
