Cooper's Value in Picks

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I'm not ready to sell for a top 3 pick. He was a top 3 when he came out and I think he's shown enough to warrant more than that even though this year was a complete disaster. Top 3 picks can still be complete busts.

I’m certain I wouldn’t cough up the #3 for Cooper but I believe I could land him for the 1.06 .. I’m on the fence even though it looks like a slam dunk that I should ..

As someone who has watched every single one of his NFL games I would be hesitant to pay more than a mid-to-late 1st and personally - I just wouldn't, but that's me.

Just because you spent a top 3 on him I hate to tell you he isn’t worth that anymore. I would pay pick 6 or lower.

I’m going to hold off on offering the #6.
He could end up being a target hog if Crabtree is sent packing but I’ve watched just about all of his games and he’s starting to look like just a JAG needing high volume to produce.. I’d be more inclined to send the offer if I knew Del Rio was sent packing .. Somehow Raiders stoped throwing the ball downfield and turned into a dink and dunk offense . Was hard to watch this year .

That had more to do with them firing Musgrave with all fairness, not Del Rio.

Yea. Del Rio had nothing to do with their style of offense. Why they got rid of Musgrave I’ll never know. The best thing for that offense is a new offensive coordinator. As far as Cooper is concerned I think he’s worth 1.6-1.08 but I wouldn’t pay that because the market is down as a whole when it comes to Cooper. If the owner is frustrated you can probably get him much cheaper. I’d throw out a feeler first or simply ask the owner what he’d be looking to get.

He's another guy that should be a hold as you probably won't get fair value.

This. Cooper is the definition of a player where those selling will very likely want more than people are willing to pay.

I have gone into this pretty extensively in the main forum page; but to summarize some of the key points..

The Raiders are determined to utilize him as an outside receiver - his skillset is better off being an athletic slot receiver to be completely honest with you. He needs space to work with, bottom line. Unless he magically becomes more physical this off-season; which I highly doubt will happen. Cooper is the type of player that is reliant on big plays to produce from a fantasy standpoint; and while this may echo a lot of fantasy players, these big plays come at an alarmingly low success rate.

We are talking about a guy who is going to finish with just north of 565 yards (what he has now) on the season despite having a 200+ yard game against the Chiefs. Aside from that game against the Chiefs - the last time he surpassed 100 yards in a game was October 30, 2016.

A lot of people talk about top 5 or top 10 upside with him - I just do not see it when I watch him play. I think you are looking at a low-end WR2 when you are looking at Cooper.

He's a good receiver - but he's not a great receiver.
