Buy low on Pryor?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Buy low on Pryor?

Postby Dr.DBuck » Wed Nov 01, 2017 6:44 am

A few weeks ago I tried to "buy low" on Pryor with a 2nd, in hopes he would eventually do something. Clearly, he isn't a fit with the Skins and they don't want to involve him in the slightest bit. He obviously will be going to another team next year and still could have some type of upside potential (maybe??).

I have a TON of 3rds, which I don't really need, as I really don't have anyone on my roster that I could drop right now-in my opinion, aside from Rod Smith.

Should I trade 4x-3rds for Pryor??

I was hoping to keep Rod Smith until the first Cowboys game, in hopes he would have a solid game, so I could trade him for any type of value back at all immediately. I know Pryor is completely worthless right now and 3rds in our league as basically toss-in picks and get moved around meaninglessly for the most part. Would it be worth me dropping Rod Smith and moving 4x-3rds for Pryor? Stashing him this year (since my year is basically over already) and hope that he bounces back next year, with whatever team he signs with? Orrr, should I just completely avoid entirely and not even attempt to touch him.

Agreed and honestly doesn't even have to be pre-season value, as I already thought he was overvalued to begin with. 3rds in our league are traded for like Sproles and guys like that. But after this season we are implementing a 3 spot taxi squad though, making them more valuable. Would only do the trade in hopes he became somewhat relevant, even around like a 8ish points per week type of guy.

Last week I was down and he said he wanted to wait and now, I'm not sure I'm even down anymore haha.

If you can get him for one 3rd, then sure, but I'm not giving up four of them.

This. I can also see an argument for 2-3rds if they are predicted to be late

2-3rds probably gets it done on my end, but don't really want to move 4 of them either.

snap accept...there is no way that your keeping those 3rds when you roster 18. the gamble is worth it...wr typically struggle yr1 in a new system, its disturbing that he hasnt produced, but i would much rather take my chances with pryor over 4 3rds over the next 12 months in your format.

i believe in pryor i would do that. the skins coaches and organization are botching everything they possibly can...cant sign Kirk, cant feature a RB, cant feature a WR, rely on Reed to produce but hes off the field as much as on it. he lands in a good spot next year you will be happy you traded for him and got him so cheap

Sure, what's the hit rate on third round picks? I think there have been like 4-5 players who have any value taken in three years in my league.
1: 12 team, .5PPR, 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 W/R/T
QB: Dak, Mayfield // RB: Mixon, Taylor, Akers, Gibson, McKinnon, Peterson, McFarland, Penny, Gio, Dallas, D. Williams // WR: Evans, Sutton, Chark, McLaurin, Boyd, Diontae, J. Jefferson, M. Williams, Crowder, Washington // TE: Goedert, OJH, Cox, Akins, Dissly

2: 12 team PPR, 6pt all TDs, 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 W/R/T
QB: Watson, Minshew // RB: Saquon, Zeke, Cook, Drake, Mostert, McKinnon, Mattison, Pollard, Vaughn, Boston Scott, Ito // WR: Hopkins, Adams, Evans, Boyd, Diontae, Kirk, Lazard // TE: Hurst, Graham, Akins

3: 12 team SF, .5PPR, 6pt all TDs, 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 W/R/T, 1 Q/W/R/T
QB: Wilson, Herbert, Carr, Lock, Smith, Stidham, Hoyer, Luck // RB: Cook, Chubb, Ekeler, Drake, Gibson, DJ, McKinnon, White, Hines, Mike Davis, JJ Taylor, Booker // WR: Moore, Lockett, ARob, Thielen, Reagor, Van Jefferson, Byrd // TE: Andrews, Henry
