Warrick Dunn. Already been over that comp in this thread.

But I believe Sproles could have averaged 15 touches a week with the Saints, if not for coach's choice. He had the rushing ability, and the durability to go with it. Been over that, too.

I do agree with this premise, but there's such an obvious size bias in the NFL that you have to weigh that in to gauging a guy's possible statistical upside. You can argue whether or not that size bias is warranted, but it's tough to argue against its existence.

Apparently the guy has packed on 10 lbs of muscle and is looking pretty good. I sold him last year and kind of bummed now that I did cause I think they are gonna use him more than I expected. He had a pretty solid rookie year for being behind a 20 plus touch back.

I said it in the plant your flag thread but I think this is your last chance to buy low on him and think he can be another lightning bug.

That was a good flag plant
Excited to see what he can do with the new coach and the extra 10lbs of muscle!

Don’t see much him getting much touches other than 3rd down’s but he does look like he has some nice upside still. I think this CHI offense will surprise a lot of people next year

Packing on weight never seems to work out. Anyone else notice that?

Seems like I see better results when the player reportedly loses weight.

Lev'eon Bell lost weight before year 2. Amari Cooper added weight before last year. It definitely has some merit. Carlos Hyde lost a bit of weight a few years back, too.

I think Evans lost weight going into Y3 as well. Last year Ty Montgomery reportedly gained weight. I can't think of an example where someone added weight and it was a good thing. Anyone have any examples? I'm sure it happens and it just isn't widely publicized.

Yup, every time I hear a small-ish RB added weight, I cringe and think of Steve Slaton. Very rarely does it help and usually hurts their game more.

Sproles started out at around 180 and added 10lbs to 190. He’s about the same height. That’s the only case I can think of where the same size player added weight and I think it actually helped. Otherwise, I agree it usually takes away quickness. Cohen is a tough guy like Sproles so maybe it will help him. Who knows, we will see. Maybe it’s just off season weight that he will lose during training camp :D

Careful with these offseason blurbs about getting a guy more touches. This talk is common and most often doesn't pan out with these gadget guys that aren't full RBs or full WRs.

See: Dexter McCluster, Antwann Randle-El, Darren Sproles, Danny Woodhead, Tavon Austin, Shane Vereen, Dri Archer, Devin Hester, and any Pats receiving back.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
