2 of the top 3 receiving yard leaders are on the Vikings.

Postby Ryantacular » Tue Sep 26, 2017 12:50 pm

Who would have bet money on that happening before the season? Or would ahve guessed 2 of the top 3 would be on the same team, any team at all?

Interesting pointless statistic of the day. Only week 3, but still quite interesting, considering they are top 2 in rushing as well.. (1 is obviously KC.)

...with Bradford for 1 game and Case Keenum for 2 games? Pretty sure you could have retired off that bet

I think I am more surprised that it has come with Keenum throwing it.

Definitely crazy that its with Bradford and Keenum.

Will be amusing if still at the top after week 4.

Case Keenum is an under-the-radar gunslinger. Give him some time in the pocket and he will put the ball down field. If you put some pressure on him early, he will crumble.

I guess it should be noted much of Keenums playing time came under the Fisher/Snead regime so maybe he gets a pass and can be treated more like a Ryan Fitzpatrick or Brian Hoyer going forward (short term upside usage).
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

I think we could see in Minny going forward, the same thing we've seen in Denver the past couple years.

Meaning, even if the offense as a whole isn't a powerhouse, the 2 starters at WR are both very talented and the guys behind them are NOT, so the passes will get funneled mostly to just those 2 guys.

I have always liked Diggs and Theilen, well as much as one could the last two or three years. One thing with MN (and a lot of the NFL) is they seem to be night and day offensively with their home/road splits. I feel ok started them in Minneapolis, but very doubtful on the road. So fire them up this week for sure. Though, for good or bad, it has been 3 weeks. With 2 being good weeks at home. Does the fortune change or the trend continue? If I had to bet, I would stick to the road being rough travels since the NFL can be killer there. As far as making a ton of $$ off of a three-week future bet, never would happen. Theilen was around 50-1 to 75-1 to lead the NFL in receiving for the entire year preseason, which I thought was decent value. Would any non-rich person really have the cajones to put $1000 on that happening? Still impressive what he and Diggs have done the first couple games at home.

Bridgewater might be back around week 7 so if an owner is worried about Keenum there might be a buying opportunity on the WRs.

During the preseason there seemed to be a lot of positive talk about Michael Floyd. Once he's done with his suspension, I could see him eating into the workload of Thielen. I think Diggs will keep his weekly targets but it's hard to say as of now.

Thielen looks as good as Floyd ever did. And Floyd hasn't looked like that for about 2.5 years

Think Floyd impacts Treadwell more than either Diggs or Thielen.
